New Covina HC Joe Brown
(Covina)- Covina Colts assistant Joseph Brown was named the team’s new head coach today said Athletic Director Darryl Thomas.
“I know he’s going to do a great job,” said Thomas. “We are happy to announce him as our new head coach.”
Brown has served as the Colts offensive coordinator since 2005, and has been on staff at Covina since 1996.
“Coach Brown has been a very integral part of Covina’s success over the last few years and now he’s going on to become the head coach, ” Thomas said. “At first he didn’t want it when we opened the position to staff members but then he talked it over with his family and decided to take the job. He’s been my right hand man. He knows the program and it will be a smooth transition.”
Thomas stepped down as the Head Coach earlier this year after 15 years at the helm. The Colts finished 11-2 last year overall and advanced to the semi finals of the Mid-Valley Division playoffs.
