"So what are you doing with your CIF Rings?"

Kick it!

MaxPreps flipped its switch for football…It must mean the 2012 season has officially begun.

If the CIF proposal goes through…I’m ready…Hello Northwest Division…I’ve always been a Fillmore Flash fan…

It’s well known that Monrovia HC Ryan Maddox and West Covina HC Mike Maggiore are good friends, but they also have six CIF title rings between them…

I’ve known Peterson for over thirty years and the only thing we got to show for it is Bad News Barker…Oh and a Barker bowling trophy from 1985.

Note to NCAA: The tournament is dying…you have to do two things…Workout an agreement with the NBA to end the one and done…Let players be drafted out of high school and placed in the D-League…But if they agree on college then they should have to stay for three years.

Second…Get rid of the foul-out rule…Instead of disqualifying a player with five fouls add assorted double and triple bonuses…Nothing worse than turning on a tournament game knowing who only one player is and then having him go to the bench three minutes in because he picked up a second foul.

The most amazing thing happened to me over the weekend…I woke up on Thursday a Lehigh basketball fan…Of course I’ve been a Lehigh fan since the days of Donny Most but this time I was REALLY a Lehigh fan…Then I remembered I was really a North Carolina State Wolfpack fan…

Here’s the most amazing part…My bracket is still perfect.

Derek Fisher needed to retire right after the Lakers beat the Celtics in 2010. He cost too much money.

After getting a close look at Montebello yesterday…I have a feeling the Almont is going to be way up in 2012. An argument could be made for any of the top five teams to win a league title. Alhambra has a lot of talented old guys, Bell Gardens has a lot of talented young guys, the Oilers have a lot of talent returning with experience, Schurr is ready to bounce back with some studs, and San Gabriel…San Gabriel…Mmm?

If you listen to ESPN’s Colin Cowherd and Mark Schlereth you’d think Tim Tebow was responsible for everything from high gas prices to the the slaughter of innocents in Afghanistan…but he seems to have had nothing to do with Denver making the second round of the playoffs.

Next Add Denver: Listening to sports talk on Monday morning I thought it was interesting how they spent more time telling us how bad Tebow was rather than what Peyton Manning brought to the team.

Still the Broncos made a great move by going after Manning, who is by far the superior quarterback…Especially if he is healthy. Manning was the only guy available Bronco brain-trust could safely replace Tim Tebow with…Especially if Manning is healthy.

On the other hand…Manning better be and stay healthy.

Do you know anything about L.A. Baptist (That’s right I said L.A. Baptist) middle linebacker Collin Adams (6-1, 175)? He was listed as a freshman last season and looked a lot better than most freshman. Just curious.

Last Add Almont: Best thing for Jude Oliva and staff to do is remind everyone that 2011 is over…This is 2012…The Matadors can compete for a league title but could suffer from title run hangover…

Last Add San Gabriel: After reaching the title game in 2003, SG went 1-8-1 in 2004.

Oilers One More Time: Montebello returns five to its offensive line this fall. Four of them were starters, the fifth received significant playing time…Keep an eye right guard Bryan Rodriguez (6-1, 280)…

Finally: How do you keep your NCAA bracket perfect? Simple, you only write in and advance teams after they’ve won. It’s foolproof.

The Dude abides…
