Mid Valley Division Playoffs Game Night: Semi-Finals

Game times are noted below but those are what is listed more so than a guarantee. Plan on 7:00 p.m. and you’ll be sure to be there on time. With the way these teams can light up a scoreboard, being late is highly discouraged!

Friday

Pomona (10-2) at Sierra Canyon (12-0) at Granada Hills High School 7:15 p.m.

This game is a repeat of one of last year’s Mid Valley Division semi-finals. The Red Devils won that one 33-20 but their work is cut out for them to repeat the feat. The Trailblazers right now are on a different level than just about anyone else in the Mid Valley Division. Don’t get me wrong, Pomona has the athletes in Darreon Lockett, Brian Lamb and Jackson Chris to pull the upset but will they? They won’t if they get behind like they did against Brentwood and Northview. Sierra Canyon’s defense is holding teams to a stingy 14.5 points a game. In the end, Niko Harris, B.J. Cole, Kohl Holinquest and Eric Markes will prove to be too much to stop.

San Dimas (9-3) at Viewpoint (7-5) at Agoura High School 7:00 p.m.

Outside of the Saint and Patriot locker rooms no one would have predicted earlier in the season that it would be these two teams meeting in the semi-finals. San Dimas had changes in the coaching staff and Viewpoint made it into the playoffs as an at-large team. The Saints are on a roll and took it to Paraclete last week. Like we’ve said throughout the playoffs, with a talented quarterback like Zach Chulak, the Patriots will always have a chance and they took down Montebello then Covina. San Dimas head coach Mark Holman has been this far a few times and knows how to get his team ready. It’s been a nice playoff run for Viewpoint but it ends here.
