Southeast OC of the Year: Erik Meyer

Erik Meyer, who spent his spare time as a quarterback for the San Jose Sabercats in the Arena Football League, also ran the La Mirada offense.

The Matadores went all the way to a state championship with the offense putting up prolific numbers. With Meyer pulling the strings, La Mirada passed for 2,512 yards, with 32 touchdowns with just six interceptions. Everybody was involved with 11 different players catching TD passes. The Mats rushed for 3,598 yards at over seven yards per carry with Sej-J Lauago piling up over 1800 yards and 30 total touchdowns overall (rushing, receiving, and kick returns).

La Mirada averaged over 42 points per game racking up over 50 points per game seven times. In the championship run (CIF, State) the Matadores scored 55, 38, 38, 45, 36, and 27 points in the six game span with Meyer at the controls. Erik Meyer, La Mirada alum, is our Southeast Division OC of the Year.
