Maranatha (0-1-1) at Arcadia (2-0)
This one looks like a blowout on paper. Now we all know they don’t play the games on paper, but yes it’s still a blowout. Maranatha had trouble stopping an explosive San Dimas team two weeks ago and Arcadia is that same type of team. Also right now the Minutemen don’t have the offense to keep up with a fast team like the Apaches. So if Arcadia breaks out early it could be over quick. Jahlique Stephens (324 yards rushing) and the Apaches could have a field day. Arcadia…big.
Arcadia 35 Maranatha 14

Damien (3-0) at Charter Oak (3-0)
Damien could be the one team that gives Charter Oak some trouble. The Spartans have come out of the gate with three straight victories including a win over a tough Chino team in Zero Week. But this Charter Oak team is a different animal. The Chargers aren’t just beating opponents, they’re chewing them up and spitting them out. They’ve outscored their first three opponents 150-32. No that’s not a typo. These are opponents that were given a legitimate shot to beat the Chargers coming in. Brett Clemetson, Brian Casteel, and Jermaine Braddock are just too much. Damien might hang for awhile but CO eventually rolls. Chargers go 4-0.
Charter Oak 38 Damien 10

Muir (2-0) at La Salle (2-1)
We don’t know a whole lot about the Mustangs opponents. They pounded Compton and then had their hands full in a 6-0 win over Desert Oasis (Las Vegas). When was the last time you saw Desert Oasis play? I do know this, the Vegas team is 0-3. On the flip side, La Salle has been raising some eyebrows. The Lancers did lose once…to Bishop Diego. Who doesn’t lose to Bishop Diego? La Salle outscored its other two opponents, Monrovia and El Camino Real, 70-6. Quarterback Jake Caan (yes he’s related to actor James Caan) has thrown for 434 yards and five touchdowns and Amon Milliner has 543 yards and seven touchdowns rushing. Muir will fight, the Stangs always do, but this Lancer team could be special.
La Salle 31 Muir 21

Crescenta Valley (1-1) at La Canada (2-1)
In the first two games sophomore Cole Doyle is leading the Falcons in both passing and rushing. Probably not what head coach Paul Schilling had in mind but for his offense but they will have to make do after getting hit hard by graduation. La Canada is relying heavily on the ground attack led by Tyler Breneman and Brandon Sharman. If LC can control the clock with the ground game they will have a shot at the upset.

Schurr (3-0) at West Covina (1-2)
The Spartans come into this game with confidence on the rise and relishing the underdog role and being told they aren’t big enough. West Covina got a needed win over South Hills last week and will be looking to build on that win. If the Bulldogs overlook Schurr and come in overconfident, the Spartans will enjoy another upset.

St. Francis (2-0) at La Serna (2-1)
After playing their first three on the road, the Lancers get to play Friday night in their new digs at the new stadium on the campus of Cal High. Last week’s win over Mira Costa has La Serna feeling fine but St. Francis will be another tough matchup. St. Francis’ has two mixed bag wins. One over a decent West Covina team and a walk in the park against Pasadena. Friday will be their biggest test to date.
