(Burbank) – Cole Doyle passed for 200 yards and threw a touchdown pass and Brandon Beardt scored two rushing touchdowns including the go-ahead score as Crescenta Valley beat Burbank 35-21 Friday night at Memorial Stadium.

With 5:18 left in the fourth quarter, and the score tied at 21, Beardt broke through the trenches and scored the games go-ahead touchdown sealing the Falcons’ win.
In the closing seconds of the third quarter, the Bulldogs defense pinned the Falcons deep in their own territory forcing them to punt. Burbank’s special team then blocked Clyde Hovsepian’s punt and scored, cutting CV’s lead to 21-19.
Then the Bulldogs converted the 2-point conversion when Guy Gibbs found Jake Kelly in the flat tying the game at 21.
The Falcons tried to respond early in the fourth quarter but Doyle’s pass was picked off by Nick Warren at the Bulldog 20 yard line. However, Burbank gave the ball right back when Gibbs pass was stolen by Tyler Lobianco who leaped over a Bulldog receiver to make the interception at the Burbank 40 yard line.
From there, the Falcons constructed an eight-play drive that consumed two and a half minutes ending when Beardt scored on the 6-yard carry giving CV a 28-21 lead midway through the final stanza. Beardt added insurance for the Falcons when he scored again with 1:25 left in regulation.
In the first half, Crescnta Valley scored 14 straight points after letting the Bulldogs score on its opening drive.
Burbank was the first to put points on the board when Warren capped off the Bulldogs opening drive with a two-yard rushing touchdown.
Doyle tied the game at seven when he sneaked his way into the end zone. He then gave the Falcons the lead when he connected with Beardt for a 30-yard touchdown pass.
With a missed field goal from CV, the Falcons went into intermission up 14-7.
With the win, Crescenta Valley remains undefeated in the Pacific league and looks to stay perfect when they travel to Arcadia next Friday night. Burbank will attempt to bounce back against Burroughs.
