Rosemead HC Marc Paramo has stepped down after five years.

By Tim Peterson

(Rosemead) – Marc Paramo has resigned as the head coach at Rosemead he confirmed Tuesday.

The Panthers went 26-28 under Paramo during a five-year run. Paramo took over for Matt Koffler who resigned after the 2011 season. Paramo was the DC for Rosemead on Koffler’s staff..

Rosemead made the playoffs three of the five years and won the Mission Valley League title in 2014. The Panthers went 6-0 in league that year after starting the season 0-4. They beat Covina in the first round of the playoffs before falling to Sierra Canyon. In  2013 Rosemead lost to Pomona in the first round of  CIF and in 2015 the Panthers fell to Northview in round one. Last year Rosemead went 2-8 overall.

Paramo cited going back to school and focusing on other things in his professional life as the reasons for stepping down.

You ever wonder how Arroyo is always good at QB play and Receivers?
Their Speed , Timing, and ability to scramble and make great plays when in trouble, is respectable.

@FBFan “most good coaches spend time watching film getting ready for the next game”?
Wow, most GREAT coaches spend more time training team on Agility, speed, catching angles, attacking angles, route running, feet position, hip position, hand position, defending angles, defending spaces, teaching different type of offenses, or different type of defenses, lineman feet movement, back position, hand position, offensive timing with QB and receivers, playbook for special circumstances, etc etc etc, and not on film, It is OK to watch film to catch mistakes , and watch film on next opponent, but that is half day only of film to prepare your style before you train team how to defend and attack.
Most good or mediocre coaches arrogance think they can coach their style and no one can stop them, also ; Too difficult of a Defense play calling, in which half the players do not understand their assignments. Failure!
Many type of offenses do not function with the D the other team has , you don’t go into the game and on 3rd qtr and figure out that is your problem of why our loosing..
Great coaches use the right kid for the right position and not play politics.
    Great coaches ask for help.
Great coaches motivate, not put down.
Great coaches do it for the love of the game not Fame.
GREAT COACHES WEEKLY ASK THEMSELVES HOW CAN I GET BETTER?
AND NOT GIVE UP ON THE SEASON!
This was not thrown to Rosemad coaching, this was an answer to FBFan who commented most good coaches.
Coaches should look at themselves on the mirror and ask ,Did I give 100 % ? If not ; STEP DOWN. Go watch Kitty Football as FBFan says.

@FBFan we know recruiting is illegal, no one mentioned to do recruiting, READ, I said to do camps to kids who belong to your schools so they start loving the colors of the school in their district they belong to. and not be driven away from recruiters. half go to other schools illegally with a fake address, and some to Amat for supposedly better academic institution, BS they go because they were recruited, I never said to Rosemead to recruit , but to do training camps.
I do not spend time in kitty football, I could tell you my great life in football but , it is not about me.

@Rebel, you know it’s illegal to go to youth games and recruit right? Just because other teams do it doesn’t make it right. And besides, most good coaches are spending time watching film and getting ready for the next game. How do you do that by spending time at kitty football games talking to mom’s and dads?

Hire known and coaches who know the area.
Hire someone who can draw players that belong to you in Rosemead but choose to go elsewhere , example Rebels players leave to 5 other schools because a small school has nothing to offer.
A respected coach might draw them in.
Hire someone willing to go and talk to 8-12 year olds telling them the are welcome at Rosemead, Its called a farm system.
Set up a free camp for them, heck make that 3-4 Saturdays helping these kids out and you won them over, and they start loving your colors.
In the past I have not seen one coach from Rosemead go to Rebels games , they do not care,? they are arrogant? they can make gold out of DELETED?
Admit you need talent, and by the way, you are not kissing DELETED when you go talk to the kids.
The kids love to feel they are wanted. Get 4 or 5 per year, no need to be super stars, but they have experience, and you win more than 75% of your Freshman games .
Next year another 4-5 and in 3 years your winning league, without cheating.

No way Joel Sanchez goes to Rosemead they hate him, he was a jerk when he was al EM.
Arroyo HC would never go to another school in same district Arroyo has 3 X the athletes they get at other rival schools in same league.
the AD and Admin would not know who to pick, as they are not football guys, so the ex head coaches will have input, usually ex coaches are arrogant, which “no one will be good enough”, and will end up worse hiring inside , which in Rosemead no assistant knows football to the point of being HC.

Rosemead’s principal knew Paramo was not going to coach next year, why did they wait so long to deal with it. Winter is over and spring is here with no coach. By the time a new coach is cleared spring will be over. The good coaches win in the winter and spring in the weight-room and installing their play book. Most good principals are ex football coaches and this would not have happen.

To all Football coaches… THANK YOU.
So much is expected, thank you’s may be hard to come by. Just remember you are appreciated. Never put your family second… it isn’t worth your family. Imagination is crucial never lose it because then football becomes a job and probably not why you started doing it anyway. Jan-April recharge relax and recover. The grind should start in May. Keep up the great work.

Coaches if you are thinking of quitting a head coach position do it right after the season. If you wait till spring and summer then have the grit to hang on for one more season. You hang on for the boys and not for the administrators and then be straight with them in November. This diddling around is baloney. Man Up as you coaches demand of your team.

If parents, Administrators, specators and Athletes would act as a head coach for one week, just one week. They would appreciate their football program more. The work is endless and the pay is 0. If you win people complain, if you lose people complain. If the snack bar isn’t stocked the way they want it they complain. It’s endless complaining all the way around. Thus so many coaches who have been with their programs for years are leaving. What was once fun and enjoyable and coaches were happy doing it for pennies has now become full of “Little Johnny is going D1, he needs to shine regardless of what’s good for the team” If Paramo stays or leaves Rosemead he deserves to do what’s right for him, he gave many many hours and years to RHS, at some point he needs to do something for himself. Few people understand this and it has nothing to do with loyalty to RHS.

Shows how much the District values good coaches that put in a lot of time, dedication and love for the game. Sad day but at the end of the day coaches are no valued and you will see this more and more. EM Rosemead and Marshall now need coaches. Best of luck at Montebello Coach.

Why would you be upset that any coach leaves? Administration that gets it and does right by coaches and athletics are so rare. If you civilians only knew the half of it. That district has the biggest collection of self serving individuals that run the district. From the top spot to the lowest AP it is bad. The AD at Rosemead struggles in his position. The one at EM looks good next to him.
People want loyalty when it doesn’t exist for coaches. Treat people right, be honest, give help when need, support the coaches and hold them accountable. The results speak for themselves if that happens.

It’s a sad day at Rosemead High School. I could not have asked for a better Coach, mentor, or friend to have coached my son. It was a great 4 years with Marc Paramo. Some of my son’s best football times were spent with this great Coach who still does things old school, no glamour, no kissing a#%s, telling it like it is and making sure the student athlete understood his role. We had a great run. Wishing him the very best that life has to offer, we still work together so I’ll see you around Coach! thanks for everything!

It is just a matriarch of DELETED running the district and they are always right. The good district are run by exfootball coaches like Covina valley. That’s the way it should be.
