(Temple City) – Yuji Sakane threw six innings and allowed one run as Temple City beat Monrovia 2-1 Wednesday in Rio Hondo League action.
Sakane scattered seven hits and struck out eight. Ryan Lewis came on to pick up the save. At the plate Sakane also went two for three with an RBI and Jake Trabbie went one for two with a run batted in. Erik Lewis went two for three with a run scored. The Rams scored both of their runs in the first inning.
Logan Barnier singled home Will Clayton for Monrovia’s lone run in the fourth.
It was the first league game for both teams.
Looks like a young TC team took advantage of a Monrovia team that was saving their “good” pitcher for Friday’s game against La Canada. Hope Monrovia keeps making those misjudgments, it may cost them league this year. Great job Rob. GO RAMS
