(“The TEN” is not a top ten but ten items worth being included in “The TEN”)
1.) The Los Angeles Dodgers are 1-4 against left-handed starting pitching.
2.) “You have to be a fool to get into high school football coaching right now.”—Former San Gabriel Valley Head Coach
3.) Pittsburgh Steelers owner Dan Rooney passes away yesterday (April 14) at the age of 84.
4.) St Louis Cardinals legend Lou Brock being treated for bone cancer in leg. Brock had lower portion of leg amputated-diabetes in 2015.
5.) Former San Diego Chargers quarterback, Stan Humphries turns 52 today. Humphries led the Bolts to Super Bowl 29…Where they were routed by the San Francisco 49ers.
6.) On this day in 1910, President William Howard Taft begins tradition of throwing out ball on Opening Day.
7.) “The players actually do deserve a good coach. In fact Marshall has had some good coaches in the past but they don’t keep them, that’s why I say they should just plug somebody in. But if they do want to invest in the program and bring in a solid coach then do everything they can to support him. Make him want to stay and get behind him. Otherwise it’s going to be same old, same old…”—MVS staffer Tim Peterson
8.) Yoenis Cespedes has hit five home runs in last three games but it is Travis D’Arnaud’s solo homer in the top of 16th inning that gives the New York Mets a 9-8 victory over the Miami Marlins.
9.) Los Angeles Dodgers-Milwaukee Brewers reportedly in trade talks centering around Ryan Braun.
10.) It’s Friday…but Sunday is coming.
Haha. Touché
‘The Ten’= Fool? How about those that just love the game? Love the game enough to not care about the money, nor the administration BS!
The game gives us a feeling of love for the game; and coaches with this passion should coach!
NOW if you are talking Parent Bull feces==that ruins it for coaches
Yeah it’s pretty lame, almost as much as a grown man using emojis.
Grown deleted men (I presume) hiding behind screen names and arguing with each other…hilarious. 🤣
Nah mine won’t be playing tennis, but you make sure in 10-15 years when your little Hector or Carlos when he has headaches for the rest of his life it’s because he wasn’t tough enough deal?
@Good old days: Take your sissy boy to the chess club. You can get hurt anywhere. TBI’s is fake news. I played sports and was going pro until I decided to be a financial genius.
@SoftParent
Don’t let your kid play football then.
Tennis is available.
The Good ole days are over. WE as parents actually care that our children learn proper tackling technique, not “who hits the loudest”. We as parents are provided new information that YOU say is making the game softer but let me ask you, are YOU going to pay MY kids medical bills or private nursing costs when he gets CTE or TBI because he was “trying to be the toughest”?
It’s the end of high school football as we know it… wait till the 7 on 7 leagues turn into full gear 11 on 11 high school age leagues. Pop warner at the high school level.
Football is not the same as it was just 10 years ago. All the offseason work is too much. The ME generation sucks. The ME parents suck. Declining numbers, declining support, and the toughness level is way down. I’ll take a John Riggins over a diva receiver any day.
