    The mighty Angelus league myth.
St Francis always good. Coach Bonds certainly one of the best football minds around.
St Paul lost to Div. 10 Montebello. Need I say more.
Salesian has a big showdown against D13 Cantwell the Angelus loses that one you cathedral guys have no argument!
LaSalle lost to D12 Arcadia lols
Harvard Westlake has two wins vs Birmingham and Jefferson, Jefferson lost Bell! Lols. Plus they have a showdown with Garfield who should’ve lost to Montebello if not for shady officiating and who lost to D12 Schurr. My vote is Garfield beats HWL by two scores.
So with all that said if you put Arroyo in the Mighty Angelus they’re a third place team. Conceding to St Francis and Cathedral. Yea real tough league there buddy. Lols

#1 their main recruiting focus is Whittier, Pico Rivera, Norwalk , Santa Fe Springs cities which do not produce the type of talent SP needs to be a legitimate threat. #2 the campus is very outdated #3 education is subpar #4 coaching isn’t too great, #5 they are stuck on the “St Paul way” which is outdated and won’t work in today’s local football world. For SP to lose to Montebello is the absolute embarrassment of the century, I once upon a time was considering sending my son there, thank god I didn’t now I avoid that place like the plague. Not sure why anyone would pay such tuition to get so little back for their kids. Bail on that sinking ship.

    A. ARROYO
    B. MATER DEI
    C. MONROVIA

awesome points. those clowns love to beat up on weaker teams to inflate stats. When Alemany and Chaminade left Cathedral was supposed to follow but they went to court to escape those teams. Competition isn’t what PEE is after its notoriety its fame he wants people to worship him which why he has the staff he does… all yes men! hes hoping a college is fooled by his fake stats and hires him. If god were walking down the street Pee would fight him because this man thinks hes god. We played Santa Margarita Hart and san Pedro next. that’s a schedule we will be tougher for it come playoff time. I like that Danny is calling out Arroyo now loll…….I can list all the opponents that were turned down by these clowns.

Yea I’m sure cathedral would love to another division 11 team to add to their schedule. Lmfao. Why don’t you call up bishop Amat I’m sure they’d love to play you guys. How about you play anyone who’s not in double digit divisions. Cmon bro it’s embarrassing.
And if Schurr or we win at least both schools had the stones to play the game which is far more than what anyone can say at Cathedral. Keep racking up that yardage tho guys. It really looks good.

Life is relative my friend. Arroyo can be defined as a juggernaut when compared to teams of comparable talent. Just take a look at last year. In the regional state championship vs La Jolla Country Day, they put up 42 points and went toe to toe for the entire game. They scored 35 on Rancho Mirage in the CIF title game, 70 vs Segerstrom in the semis, and 42 vs a solid Schurr squad. What, no credit? Why, because Arroyo is loaded with D1 talent?

Those who constantly attempt to diminish or discredit Arroyo’s recent success are plainly myopic. Frankly, I think it’s stupid to say Arroyo hasn’t played anyone in recent memory. In the last 20 years, Arroyo has played plenty of formidable opponents. Throughout Arroyo’s history, they have been required to face superior opponents time after time. How soon people forget. Let’s revisit, shall we:

In 2012, Arroyo was one tackle away from knocking off Sierra Canyon. Yes, Sierra freakin’ Canyon! The same Sierra Canyon who went 15-0 in 2011 and captured the state championship. Arroyo lost 28-20 to Sierra Canyon in the quarterfinals. Valiant effort. No one remembers.

In 2005, Arroyo’s first round opponent was La Habra. Yes, that La Habra. We all know how much of a talent discrepancy this match-up presents.

In 2013, Arroyo was knocked out by San Dimas in the Semi-finals. What, San Dimas is considered “nobody”?

In 2005, Arroyo defeated league champion Schurr 44-6 in the first round, then proceeded to give South Hills its toughest game of the playoffs. At the time, South Hills was considered one of the SGV’s top 3 teams (ranked 44th in the state).

In 1995, Arroyo faced Upland in the second round. Yes, freakin’ Upland. How fair is that? Upland had 3 NFL players on the roster. In that game, Arroyo was up 7-0 heading into the 4th quarter, and ultimately lost in a tightly contested game.

What’s the point? The point is, why is it acceptable for the likes of Sierra Canyon, Paraclete, La Habra, South Hills, Upland, etc…. to take on the Arroyos of the world on their way to CIF championships, but Arroyo defeats Schurr and Rancho Mirage, and it’s widely dismissed as an easy road to a ring. That’s just stupid. It was simply Arroyo’s turn for at least one year. Arroyo finally had their realistic opportunity to capture a ring and pulled it off. Nothing cheap about it.

Nice try on saying that HW, St. Francis and La Salle all have sparse on-campus parking. The HUGE fact you overlooked is that these other schools rest in FINE, SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS, so parking on the surrounding streets is viable, unlike the high-risk environment that is Chinatown. After trying to find a safe spot for my car on one occasion, I swore to myself that I would never return t0 Cathedral, and I won’t….not even for the second coming of Christ.

As curmudgeonly as it sounds, I agree with you. It was basically a fake play since there was an agreement for the defense to sit it out. Even though it was as inconsequential a play as there could be, making a fake play for him seems awfully condescending.

There are several sports where a blind person can compete, any of which would make a much better story and represent genuine achievement.

Kudos to blind people who attempt things that seem to defy their handicap, but from my vantage point, this is simply politically correct posturing on the part of the Trojans. Let’s say Olson is inserted regularly for a snap here or there, and God forbid, he suffers a serious injury which attorneys claim could have been prevented with normal vision. Would USC then be on the hook for playing a blind athlete?
