From MV Staff: Thanks for the update! Score is fixed!
Agree that SD lost their first 4 games of 2013 and went on a roll after that. But….the 4 games they lost had an average power rating of 28.12 each and not this seasons -4.25.
Everyone that knows me knows that the 4 teams I support are Covina, NV, SD, and West Covina ( unless we are playing them…I’m not stupid 🙂 ) so at this point in time SD has me concerned.
@MTB, QB play should be about even. if the ER quarterback can stop throwing the ball to the other team….LOL. Not even close.
Wow. Total brain fart. Completely forgot about 2013. I blame the drugs.
Being realistic I give Montebello the edge, however Im curious to see if 21 points will be the difference. ER struggles against speed of which Norwalk and Pomona seemed to have a lot of if you catch my drift. If Montebello can match Pomona’s speed and size on the perimeter then it will be rough for ER.
Montebello vs. El Rancho should be a very entertaining game. Both teams provide explosive offenses with the Oilers holding a slight advantage in the running game (ER’s #9 vs. Vital and K-Rod). QB play should be about even. if the ER quarterback can stop throwing the ball to the other team. On film ER looks solid on offense, but appear to have trouble stopping the run. ER has a good share of athletes that will help keep them in the game, but the Oilers should prevail. Hopefully, we can get off to a fast start like we did against St. Paul.
Final: 42-21 Oilers
I have to give the edge to the Dons being it’s a home game and you must consider the 12 man advantage. MTB is looking good though, I like your QB Tapia. The thing you need to work on is the D, their giving up to many points. Last years team was much better with your stud LB Olguin.
Looks to be a great rivalry game.
Areafan, you know what they say about opinions. LOL. Good luck and safe game!
Wow 55-28 mighty confident prediction.
A week ago Montebello fans used to talk trash about Arroyo , now after the beating of Shurr, they are “shhhhhh the baby is sleeping”
@Maverick,
You’re absolutely correct! We will not look past ER. They always come to play. I was just responding to another so called football guru. Lol! Let’s hope for a great game on Friday night….
@ Maverick, you are right. ER is better than most think. I love what our AD is doing by scheduling local teams. Makes for great talk on these boards. Wish the other local ADs would take notice. Sorry Maverick, MHS is coming together at the right time and the Whittier game was a wake up call. MHS should roll The Ranch big. 55-28.
Why are you guys jumping ahead, you should be focusing on this weeks game with ER, they’ve own you in the last 10 years when you played 8-2 ER. Forget about ER’s losses this early season, there’s just something about old-time rivalry that brings the best out in teams. Better get prepared for a battle, Medrano will have the Dons primed and ready.
@Reality Check?
Me? Your the one stirring the pot. Give us a little credit. What makes you think Cantwell has any chance? You probably haven’t seen either team play. Get real then! I’m very confident about what I said. If you don’t like rebuttals then go elsewhere. I’m very sure about this one… if Cantwell pulls it out then I’ll be the first to say congratulations. Until then , go make another sad prediction…
@Oiler Nation
Come on man you giving Montebello football a bad rap with your nonsense.
@reality check
Almost doesn’t mean anything. We played terrible and still won easily. Don’t play into the score. Wait till we play both sides of the ball. I think you should really think back to the Whittier game , If you were there Which I don’t think you were. They had zero chance even with a 21 point lead. Cantwell with get annihilated. They have zero chance. I never say those types of things against opponents but I’m very confident on this one…
@Olier Nation
I feel you but they almost had total failure against a mediocre Whittier team. Like you said we will see.
@reality check?
We will see. I don’t believe it but it will take a total failure from MHS for that to happen. I see Montebello scoring at least 45 points that game. Too much offense for your prediction…
I’ll take a coke with my crow sandwich. I give credit where credit is due I didn’t think they would beat Schurr this year. They are better than I gave them credit for!
Starting to hear a little noise about Cantwell believe it or not. After doing some research they have a couple good transfers contributing. Good WR from La Serna and a Linebacker from Garfield…….. they could give Montebello a scare.
