@ BadGuy: You speak boldly for someone who doesn’t have the courage to use his real name.
By the way, I’m not hard to locate. If anyone wants to have a talk with me, I’ll be sitting by the press box when Alhambra plays at Schurr on Nov. 3. I’ll be the guy with the clipboard, and I’ll get there early.
Anyone who has the urge to look me up sooner can walk up to the top of the bleachers at Moor Field this Friday evening, or on Oct. 27, when Alhambra plays Keppel.
I hope everyone has a pleasant week. I’ll do my best to stay out of trouble.
Don’t worry we will line up that fade.. not sure what y’all will do once your all world class is gone. Making the official invite now. Take it to the bank, BG will win the Almont.
Haha so now its oh this is 1 of schurrs best teams ever and montebello is down this year??? Lmao don’t try to downplay your loss! Nice Lil cute streak but its over. But let’s go Spartans we still got BG and what we really play for cif titles not league !
@Vrooman: Several thoughts. Since when is some unnamed source considered credible information? Coaches in my experience are some of the biggest gossips around. When they get together at a bar they make OC Housewives appear quiet in comparison. To bring up trash from 2012 that is unproven indicates that you use this forum for the ugliest of reasons. You are making the good fine people of Alhambra football look very petty.
Alhambra needs to hire Eric Elias as head coach. Every were he goes the offense becomes better.
Maybe you should have tried some trick plays to help that anemic offense which scored only 7 points against one of the bottom feeders of your league. Hook and lateral works wonders. GO CHIEFS!!!
@ Oiler nation, Spartan family. Let’s be humble in victory and defeat. We have bragging rights for a year now. They have had them for the last four. Hopefully we can build on our victory and keep the streak going in the future. Good luck Oiler nation the rest of the year. We will be chearing you on against BG.
@Ron, all your information are just hearsay. Please stop posting it as facts, especially when it comes to the reputation and livelihood of someone’s husband, son, and father. And no, the situation surrounding why coach O left SG wasn’t complicated. It’s as simple as AUSD refused to offer him a teaching position at that time. As I suggested earlier, just stay with what you do well, keep stats for Alhambra and nothing more.
At the end of the day all a coach can do is put his team in the proper position to defend then once the ball is snapped its up to them. The bomb with seconds left was perfectly defended until it wasn’t. Cal made the play and after several more after that.
@ My Two Cents: I would’ve replied to you sooner, but the MVS gatekeepers must have been at it again. Your comments—and those of several others—concerning Coach Oliva still hadn’t been posted on this thread as of around 10:00 last night, when I last checked it.
I never said anything about Mikal Quintanilla’s participation in the San Gabriel-Schurr game, which was later on in the 2012 season.
My statement strictly concerned San Gabriel’s opener that year against Animo High, a game for which Quintanilla was ineligible following his transfer from Temple City. He played in that game, and the Matadors were soon forced to forfeit their shutout victory. All of this is public record.
The new “30-day” transfer rule was in effect by then; is it possible that Coach Oliva did not understand the rule?
If San Gabriel High offered him the head coaching job again, it must have been out of sheer desperation. (As we all know, the position took months to fill.) And, if that’s true, it borders on the incredible, given the circumstances of Coach Oliva’s departure.
Allegations about missing money and equipment surfaced shortly after he left San Gabriel High. And, it is a fact that thousands of dollars had to be repaid by the football program later on.
My source for that information is an acquaintance who is a former head coach of an athletic team at San Gabriel.
Was Coach Oliva made into a scapegoat after an unsuccessful 2012 season? Perhaps you know more about that than I do. Either way, the whole situation was a complicated mess.
Coach Oliva is an accomplished offensive coordinator who has been particularly brilliant at running the spread offense. Maybe he’ll get another opportunity to show what he can do as a head coach—someplace else.
You shouldn’t speak up on a man unless you’re willing to in their face. If I was Jude and see this I’d roll out to AHS and have a talk with you and maybe even give you a nice backhand.
Jude is a good guy shouldn’t be shaming someone’s reputation like that.
@Hills have eyes?
Took you 4 years to make that comment. Lol.. calling me a loser when all I did this last 4 years is watch you lose and lose. Don’t be a jackass and take the glory from where it belongs… the kids. You didn’t do anything! Probably just like your life!!
Congrats to Schurr football. You guys played hard and earned your victory. You guys deserve all the credit this year! Good luck…
Bruh come on.. you beat Cal by 7 points and managed to get by a way down Montebello by an incredible 3 points with your best team of all time. BG coming then we gone see what you got. Calling it now, Beltran and the Lancers bout to shock the Almont.
I personally think Jude is a cool dude. Guy has done a lot for many kids. Nobody is perfect even all you that are talking all this smack. I hope he ends up somewhere else soon.
Illiterate
Sorry for the typos I phone autocorrect is the worst I promise I’m literate
Oiler nation where you at loser? Believe me folks! He will bring up some lame crap! Trophy is back where it belongs!! Also where is the th ER 18 loud mouth?? Cant even get by cal.
Ohh i thought there was more, I knew that but thanks for the refresher that TC an was good and shows that TC has caliber athletes and this new coach will bring that out with his program, a lot of sg fans (Jude fans ) don’t know the thousands of dollars to the program, Ledesma say what you may got the program out of the economic whole….I still wouldn’t mind another cif final though haha, please almost another final
@Ron, really? Is that what happened? Do you know that for a fact or just hearsay? 1) Mr. Quintanilla was never ineligible, he was injured. He attempted to come back during the Schurr game and was re-injured in the first quarter. 2) If bridges were so badly burn as you suggested, why did the district offered him the SG coaching position with a teaching job just this year? Smartly, he declined because being a teacher in AUSD doesn’t pay as much as a teacher at Buena Park. 3) How could money be going missing in his final year when I know for a fact all money in and out of all athletic programs must go through the ASB office? Come on man! Please stick with what you know, keeping stats for Alhambra and nothing more.
I give my thoughts thru good times and bad about Bonita athletics. Getting mercied by a mediocre Ayala team 62-14 in our house on homecoming well what else is there to say. Would be more than happy to read any Bohi boosters explanations for this humiliation.
Updated DLR final standings prediction:
Santa Fe 4-1
La Serna 4-1
El Rancho 3-2
Whittier 2-3
Cal 2-3
Pioneer 0-5
ER beats SF next Friday 21-14
Where are the oilers at now?????
Where are all the oiler fans at now ??
Played yourself Krod. Should’ve never gone to montebello. Congrats Spartans. Now to beat the Lancers.
are you dumb! SG never bought any of that equipment for the program. its sad that a coach who forks over the cash to purchase equipment out of his own pocket so kids can have a legitimate HS experience gets talked about in this negative manner. SG insider and Ron, you know nothing of what went on. be glad he was there for that long and gave those kids those years the best!
GET A CLUE!
Mr. Oliva used an ineligible player (quarterback Mikal Quintanilla) in the Matadors’ 2012 season opener against Animo High, causing them to forfeit a blowout victory.
Then, money and football equipment allegedly went missing at the time of his departure following the end of that season.
Mr. Oliva’s separation from San Gabriel High School was a bit acrimonious, to put it mildly.
@Football Fan: In case you haven’t noticed in however many years you’ve been stumbling around this planet, EVERYTHING is measured in wins and losses, whether we’re talking incomes, houses, cars, or sex partners. If YOU measure kids’ well-being any other way, it only shows how far you’ve been sucked into the politically correct propaganda machine. I can assure you that the AHS kids would find a great deal of value in WINNING more games than Bergstrom is able to currently manage on their behalf, and so would YOU if you were on that poorly coached squad.
There is no excuse….we should have held them till the end…..good game 8-7 Cal till the min or so of the game.
Cal played a good game can’t take anything away from those boys … anything can happen on Friday nights … no excuses here … IT WAS A GOOD GAME 🙂 … no lucky trick plays to win . Lol
Still standing by TheRanch !
@Ron
Can you elaborate more on Jude and “The proverbial bridge was fully engulfed in flames “?
Jude is at San Schurrgabriel as the OC. He is chasing a ring.
you know!
Why has not anyone picked up Jude Oliva for a head coaching position? Am I missing something?
Well that’s the end of oiler nation!
@ER18…come out and plaaayyyy!!
Looks like 1-4 league record at best this year in league (sounds like a bottom feeder to me). Santa Fe (L) up next then La Serna (for sure L) and finishing with Whittier (in case you forgot they beat Cal).
How does that piece of humble pie taste?
BTW – In case you haven’t heard Schurr beat Montebello last night.
Nope, no one was missing because of grades, Cal’s WR’s had a huge size advantage on ER DB’s and that decided the game.
That was not an upset, Cal and ER have played in close games the last 4 years. All the credit to cal they deserved it.
The Alhambra Unified School District is done with Jude Oliva. The proverbial bridge was fully engulfed in flames when he left San Gabriel High after the end of the 2012 season.
Now, that’s something you can take to the bank.
It’s over oilers!! what Spartan are you gonna TRY recruit now? score board baby 38-35! S P A R T A N S!!!
Spaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrtttttttaaaannnnssss
NEWS FLASH!!! UPSET OF YEAR LAST NIGHT…
THE BOTTOM FEEDER CAL SHOCKS THE RANCH.
LIKE ICE CUBE SAYS “TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY”.
Now its time for all the excuses to come.
No dog in this fight but ion your view is caring about the kids only measured in Ws and Ls?
BG 56 Keppel 0
Jude to the rescue of the Alhambra football program.😂😂😂
Oh wow…er said cal sucks and lost to them? …oh I know…because of grades!
@ER18, LMAO!!! I didn’t have to wait very long to get back to you.
Loss to the bottom feeder???
We expect a long dissertation as to why ER lost to Cal.
Congrats Cal on your victory over ER and CONGRATS TO THE SPARTANS ON THEIR VICTORY OVER MONTEBELLO. Good night and sleep tight.
@ Bank: You sound like a compulsive gambler who’s in need of a 12-step program, or something.
Bell Gardens is on our schedule, so we’ll show up. Someone might end up getting surprised; I believe it will be a very competitive game.
The administration at Alhambra High cares about all of our students, whether or not they’re athletes.
By the way, our principal, Duane Russell, was the head football coach at Mark Keppel back in the late ’90’s, when the Aztecs actually won a few games. Trust me, he cares about Alhambra’s football program, too.
Alhambra will positively lose to Bell Gardens next week, and Bell Gardens will positively qualify for the playoffs this year. You can bet the house and your whole life savings on it. I’d also feel comfortable laying ten grand on Bergstrom being kept around at Alhambra, because his superiors don’t care as much about the kids as do the higher-ups over at Bell Gardens.
Congrats to Cal they pulled off the victory over ER late in the 4th and deserved it. Tough 3 games coming up for ER.
Schurr 38, Montebello 35 !
Alhambra 42, San Gabriel 0.
Big game for Alhambra against Bell Gardens at Moor Field next Friday.
Congrats to Spartans on their 38-35 victory over montebello.
Also, must congratulate Montebello on fighting until the end.
