Everything is nearly settled heading into Week 8. With 17 of the Top 20 teams either winning or on bye, there were only minor tweaks here and there.
1. Sierra Canyon (6-1) – Impressive win over Calabasas on the road.
2. Cathedral (6-1) – St. Paul is Phantoms latest victim.
3. Charter Oak (7-0) – Chargers lay the wood to Los Altos.
4. St. Francis (7-0) – Golden Knights stay perfect with rout of La Salle.
5. Crescenta Valley (7-0) – Falcons leave no doubt in win over Burroughs.
6. Arroyo (8-0) – Perfect 10 is just two victories away.
7. Glendora (5-2) – Showdown with South Hills this week.
8. Mayfair (6-1) – Monsoons move closer to Suburban League crown.
9. Downey (5-2) – Vikings hit 60 while disposing of Dominguez.

11. Schurr (6-1) – Spartans impressive in outscoring rival Montebello.
12. San Marino (5-1) – Titans get bye, now Temple City.
13. Los Altos (5-2) – Can Conqs rebound this week against Chino?
14. Northview (5-2) – Vikings take care of business in dispatching Covina.
15. Burbank (5-2) – Battle for Pacific this week vs. Crescenta Valley.
16. Covina (5-1) – Colts can still finish second in Valle Vista.

18. Diamond Ranch (4-3) – Panthers rout Chino in Hacienda.
19. San Dimas (4-3) – Saints look forward to Northview October 26.
20. Warren (5-2) – Bears suffer setback vs. Paramount.
Why would the “big boys” want to play little old Arroyo?
If Arroyo is so weak then what’s the big deal?
As I’ve stated Arroyo played Division 3 THREE Hart. Name another team in a division close to ours who has the stones to play a team like that? I’ll wait…
@FKnight
Now I am sure you must have gone to Arroyo recently. Because anyone who knows the the old math and not the new math knows that 12 – 3 = 9 not 10. Really, we all get it. You must be Trumps brother or a Russian spy trying to misinform the American people about the real news @ MVS!
You should ask your principal if you could have another chance at a home playoff game. When CIF moves you up after this next ring, it might take a while to get back to the playoffs when they put you into the Hacienda or hopefully the Del Rio or if there is a god the Palomares!! You need to be put in one of those leagues so you can fight and scratch for 4th place for a few decades. Then we won’t have to read your BS.
@Superman
Please enlighten us. Identify the schools whom have attempted to schedule Arroyo and have been rejected.
@Mr: Objective HAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Arroyo is afraid of picking up the phone when real legit teams call, you ever wonder why you only play same or lower division and the MVL?
because he will never say yes to bog boys, and make no mistake , big boys want teams like arroyo ,but never are scheduled ,
I wish this was a real news organization inn which they would call an interview and call out teams, that way you would hear that X teams offered a game to Arroyo or others and they said “no Thank You ” “Pass”
Scheduling up is not scheduling Covina or Schurr. They are D11 and D12 teams. Good teams, but it’s not scheduling up. Playing Hart once will not cut it.
I would love to see them schedule a CO, Glendora, South Hills, Claremont, Los Altos, etc. We all know Arroyo won’t do it. They want to save face. Sorry Knight, they can’t beat those teams. Don’t take it personal get back coach, they are on a different level.
Enjoy your league championships, your gift D12 title and let it be. No need to “flash your ring around.” It just makes you look like a jack off and further proves you are the assistant to the assistant.
Yes, Arroyo would lose to Glendora, Mayfair, Downey, and South Hills, Diamond Ranch, etc. However, it doesn’t mean they aren’t deserving of their ranking. These are just rankings. And for the record, make no mistake, Arroyo (Singiser) is absolutely not afraid to schedule tough opponents. Trust me, they’ll take on many formidable challengers. That I know.
@FridayKnights
Great season last year. Congratulations. However, considering someone came on here to correct you on your “D2” miscalculation, I might as well clarify that Arroyo was not State “Runner up. ” They lost in the state regional final (semi final), not the state championship. The team whom ended Arroyo’s season lost in the state championship. Too bad for Arroyo they were too far away to return in time for the school’s first order of business. What was it, a dance, or something.
SH would roll you guys. Don’t start with your crazy talk here. Keep beating TC, Covina, and SEM of the world. Different class of football, you guys playing Hart means nothing if you get steamrolled. SH played La Habra and it meant nothing because it was 40 or 50 to zero. enjoy your D12 ring because you deserved it, but stop saying you could play with these schools until you schedule them and beat them first. SH by 40 and LA by 20 over you guys
Typical Cathedral cronies calling out double digit division teams
@FridayKnights no way Arroyo beats South Hills this year. You are smoking that good stuff you find on Peck! SH will put 40+ on you
what about a 2018 preseason schedule for Arroyo that has
TC (rivalry game)
La Serna or Downey
Montebello or Schurr
El Rancho or Los Altos
Going into league 2-2 maybe wouldn’t be bad.
On this list I believe Arroyo beats
San Dimas
Warren
SEM, Schurr and Covina (done)
Los Altos
Arroyo would give game (2TDs close)
Northview
Mayfair
Burbank
South Hills
Everyone else gets them by 3 plus TDs.
This isn’t bashing Arroyo but give them D5 level skill guys with that staff and take take out Cathedral
@FridayKnights which hs do u follow?!
@Angelus fan. What’s wrong with kids working a Walmart? A job is a job and work is work. Typical cathedral person thinking his DELETED don’t stink and looks down at people for working at Walmart. You and D1 fan are the same person. Always thinking your above people that is not a private school. I have news for you jerk. Even private schools work at Walmart and even their parents do. Just like you think public school kids are less educated than private schools. And public schools have gangs and drugs when cathedral kids sell pills from their parents medicine cabinet. Your garbage Angelus trash. Go walk in traffic and collect your thoughts.
Cathedral people come on here and in the famous works of Carbahol, aka D1 fan aka angelus chump you are all Idiots. Cathedrals fans famous lines to save face is call us to schedule a game. You all know dam well that’s not how it works. 1- Pearson never answers his phone. 2 -do you really think they care what you want. 3 – stop making assumptions that your playing a respectable schedule when your really not. You say we are playing Serra but that’s news to them. They would love to play you. And have tried but can’t fit it in when your playing Washington prep and Cantwell. Now your saying your playing Amat. Amat smashed Cathedral the 2 seasons they played them. It was an embarrassment. Stop talking about what a big time schedule your going to have until it happens. Until then live in your shame of a sorry preseason and stop beating your chest over stats on small time schools. I heard at home coming you handed out your 7 on 7 national championship rings.
You’re all annoying if it makes you feel better.
Jim, get ahold of Friday Knights and get him off the blog!! 39-0 Hart doesn’t sound like a hard fought game.
To Truth, D1 Fan just Defends Cathedral from Jerk’s like Knight. You should not get on the bandwagon about Cathedral.
@knight, you’re becoming just as annoying as D1 fan and angelus fan (brothers in arms). Keep it down, before you have everyone on this site treating you and Arroyo the same as catherdral people.
To Knight. Cathedral sends Kids to D1 College football. Arroyo sends kids to Walmart across the street from Arroyo. The only team you might beat from the Angelus league is Salesian, They are Horrible because all their studs checked out of School last year. Every other team would beat Arroyo with no problem.
From what I heard Cathedral has Serra, Loyola and Amat on their Pre-season Schedule. They need 1 weak team maybe Arroyo.
Cathedral and Arroyo preseason and season schedule are very similar matter of fact I would say Arroyos is tougher. Here’s the problem or the punchline… Arroyo is D12 Cathedral is in Division 2 yes t-w-o! How does that prep you for La Habra or upland or REV or any of the schools that your gonna meet? If doesn’t you guys are about stats not rings. Phony offers over legitimacy! Plus, i believe If you combined the Angelus league and Mission Valley League together here would be you standings
St. Francis
Cathedral
Arroyo
South El Monte
And you guys fill the in the between teams but for last place Marshall and Salesian would be a battle!
Don’t talk like your great until you get yourself on of these things!!!
(Me showing off my ring)
@Hart
Lol
That’s not what you were saying after the game! Our boys fought! Earned respect on the field that day. And guess what even though we took an L that night, we learned something valuable as a team… that lesson was enough to propel us on to winning CIF and state runners up. Cathedral can you say that? No! Ahhhhh lol you dweebs are straight comedy. We play up you play down we win rings you get stats and btw you get laughed at by any and every other school in d4 and above.
Oh and btw yes we can hang with and or beat South hills or Los Altos this year
Cathedral will play Bishop Amat next year week 4
Yeah yeah ok… I’ll shut right now. Hold your breath jack off!
Temple City, Covina Schurr Hart, pound for pound who can match it?
Arroyo is The Queen of playing Inferior Teams. Knight, just shut the f up.
@Friday Knights
FYI, we had the JV team in during the 3rd quarter.
Ohhhh so sorry… Excuse me a D12 Arroyo played a D3 Hart team. Sorry for the confusion guys. We played 10 divisions higher who else do you know who does that?
@ FridayKnights
Look we all know you love your beloved team. You truly believe that Arroyo had SEM right where they wanted them the whole game. I am sure that Jim may still have ice packs on his cuticles, but a win is a win. I get it. However, when you brag and state something that is not fact and you are using information that is available and it appears that you are trying to make your team look better. It will come back and bite you where the sun doesn’t shine. Like now, you said Hart was in Division 2 in 2016, By the way, Hart was in Division 3, check Maxpreps next time, I did. I get it, ” If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying!” Thats the Arroyo way!
Here we go… I’m sure Cathedral would love to play D11 Arroyo. They live for teams like us. D2 cathedral plays D11 arroyo lmfao. In the famous words of Ace Ventura, Lah- who -zah- her!!!
Yes, big fish. Yes, small pond. Be realistic get back coach.
The reason we are comparing Arroyo to higher division teams is because you say they deserve to be ranked among them.
Are you going to sit there and tell me they could beat Glendora, South Hills, Northview, Los Altos? They are ranked ahead of them.
Beating up the MVL every year and getting the gift of being in D12 last year does not mean you are a top ten team in the valley. C’mon chain gang!
To Friday Knights, Call Cathedral for a game next season so they can continue to play lower teams like Arroyo.
@FridayKnights
Hope your HC picks up the phone this year. We tried calling a few years ago, but no call back. Since we “play down” anyway we’d be happy to come over and beat up on you guys!
What role did Warren’s backup QBs have in allowing Paramount to score 50?
Big game this week. D7 South Hills (6-1) vs D4 Glendora (5-2). I’m thinking SH pulls this one out.
Why are you comparing higher division teams to Arroyo? What about this list has you guys so hot and bothered. Arroyo is a big fish, we know how to win games. Go ask South El Monte or Schurr. Now, need I remind you guys we played Division 2 hart last year and fought like hell. We aren’t scared to schedule up! Charter oak plays down never up! Even though they are a bigger fish in a smaller pon. No criticism! The king of the All is Cathedral they play waaaaay down and their qb gets offers out of it lmfao!
Warren had their 2nd QB for the first 3 quarters where is was 35-7. Not sure your QB plays def but you gave up 50 to paramount who played their 2nd string QB all night. Both Downey teams suck
👍
Arroyo is a big fish in a small pond. They can’t hang with the big boys no matter assistant to the assistant freshman coach Knight says.
Lmao
@FB Fan. I believe ratings are based on SOS (Strength Of Schedule) and what the records are of those games on the schedule.
Warren was without both of their QBs. Therefore it was a minor setback. They will be ready to roll this week.
Just an update: 2-5 St. Paul who had a loss to unranked D-10 Montebello has just gone from being ranked 7th to now being ranked 5th in CIF Div 6…. This is getting comical. They’re actually getting ranked higher after losses.
St. Francis and Cathedral are on a collision course.
2NAVY SEAL
We’ve only played 3 teams in top 20 this year
All time record against top 20
1-5 3-3-1
6-10 5-8-2
11-15 22-18
16-20 28-11
played the most
SEM 18-6
Schurr 7-8
Glendora 4-4-2
Yes, I have too much time on my hands.
South Hills upsets Glendora.
Wow….getting beat 50-7 by Paramount is only a “setback.” What would the score need to be for you guys to say they got creamed? You should rank the Bears even higher for having pulled the wool over your eyes.
South Hills vs Glendora… game of the week in the east! Looks to be a great match up
Arroyo would lose to at least 15 out of the 20 on the list. Do you agree?
LA is going to route Chino, but than get routed by DRanch.
