LA parents will no longer have to deal with this years coach’s! Thank God. The coaching staff has had way too many issues on all levels freshmen, jv, and varsity. Hopefully by the time my younger boys get to LA we have our coaching staff figured out.
Maybe next year, Amat. Perhaps D2 or D3 will suit you better.
@Elrancho
Well, it looks like these ER players made the right call, or else they might actually be playing tonight against a #1 seed.
Sounds a lot like Los Altos parents lol
The problem with ER is that the parents are too involved. If little “Jimmy” doesn’t start then they are upset. They don’t blame the athlete they blame the coach! It’s ALWAYS the coaches fault.
They will say things like “If he played for the Wolverines/Dons, he would have started” (or vise versa). If little “Jimmy” dropped a ball.
Bottom line is kids need to be accountable. I think Medrano had these kids in a position to win games, they just didn’t execute.
What leadership council… he asked a couple of seniors and that was it… lol
@spartanfan
Cuz he’s not really coaching… from what I heard and seen. He helps out with extra eyes on Friday Nights.
Is Jayden Campbell part of that Rosemead frosh team?
ER has a leadership council? LOL That explains a lot. Let’s hope this “Leadership Council” can back coach Medrano when his job is on the line and not throw him under the bus. Hope the school gives Medrano the time needed to build a winner.
Why is nobody talking about Jude Oliva coaching at Schurr. I heard a rumor he has been there all season. Is this true.
@Chiefs
My son tells me Vela quit before spring ball. Was told to give it some thought before making a final decision. Told coach he wanted to concentrate on baseball. He changed his mind in fall practice. Coach Medrano gave the team’s leadership council an opportunity to vote to let him on the team or not after missing spring and summer practice. The council didn’t think it was fair to the team to let him back. Good luck in the playoffs
A player missed spring football, summer camp and hell week so there is nothing left to question on why he wasn’t let back on. On the contrary you were a red zone opportunity from your league title being taken away but realistically you might be right Vela or no Vela qb play was very bad so we probably wouldn’t have won anyway. Can we please stop talking about ER now and give the spotlight to the teams who deserve it.
@legend see @jus sayn…thanx
Don’t fret my friend, Rosemead freshman went 5-1 in league,7-3 overall,influx of ROSEMEAD Rebels ( OSTRY***,SAMANO**,MARTINEZ***,REYES**,PADILLA**,GURERRO**,TENORIO**and a few others,TIMES ARE CHANGING FOR THE BETTER. WELL AT LEAST TIL 2021.
D11 – Heritage Christian vs Culver City? Who did Heritage piss off? Culver City is going to roll through them. CC could probably roll through D10 or even D9. Bloodbath city Friday night.
The Topic is on first round games…..Can we just talk DELETED about whos goin to win and why instead of a team thats not even in the playoffs. I mean really really just make a whole El rancho feed and u guys can talk there. not a hater just El Ranchoed out. Just Sayin
@Elrancho
In talking to some ER parents at a Halloween party, many still don’t understand why coach didn’t allow the RB Vela back on the team. They feel that he could’ve help. Don’t think anything would have helped them this year. Better luck next year.
Santa Fe Chiefs
Del Rio League Champs
He just sprained his ankle. Took last week off. Should be back this week or round two. Next player just needs to step up.
Believe me we don’t deserve any pub on here but people won’t let this crap die..
Is Jeremiah Hartfield really “out” for Schurr High School? I heard he broke his foot.
@ER supporters
Since when does a 5th place team like El Rancho get so much play?
The kids that got kicked off the team will be leaving. Your coaches are stupid.
ElRancho has been on Medrano’s jock prior to his hiring. Now that Medrano is 8-14, ER is blaming it on the players. No one cares that Medrano won one playoff game. When did one playoff win determine a successful season? His playoff win obviously did not carry over to this season… If ER is struggling with the type of athletes enrolling in the school, maybe they should go to the new 605 League.
Amat is a football school… lets be clear on that. Its a great school, has alot of spirit and tradition. i personally like Amat…. i wont bash that they stay D1… but if they dropped to D2… they would roll on everyone.
academics wise… its on the kid to do well, excel and prosper in the books. Lets stop these excuses of blaming the system why little johnny does not graduate or does not learn anything … parents have access to counselors and grades… blame yourself.
ill take my kids to the worst highschool in LA or the world and they still will do what i expect of them
Don’t kid yourself Amat is not that hard to get into to. Anyone with half decent grades get in.
Haha…Amat is a fine school, but are you seriously talking about it like it’s another Polytechnic or Loyola or Arcadia?
The freshmen team actually was heavily talented however some extra curricular things happened and it’s culture over individuals and that’s all that needs to be said.
Lmao… no one is leaving, kids are gonna come in, take that to the bank. No one from the frosh team is going anywhere, no one from the JV team is going anywhere, no one from varsity is going anywhere. Elrancho fans truly don’t even want to post on this topic but read all the way back people just love to bait..
Salazar flag football would be more talented than that whole freshman football team. And their coaches.
@Chameleon,
I know your just upset because you or your kid or both couldn’t get into Amat. It’s ok. Working at McDonalds is cool or living off the government is ok too. Just remember to say thank you every year at tax time.
Let me guess, they’re transferring to Santa Fe right. You have no clue. The freshman head coach will not be moving up. He may not want to return. Rumor has it that Pierson won’t be coming back next year as well. His son is graduating this year.
This thread is for comments about PLAYOFF TEAMS.
Those of you crying about teams who have turned in their gear need to do likewise with your computers.
WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR
@Sgvinsider
The irony in your comment is comical. You’re an Amat supporter (apologist), keep wishing they belong in D1 like the rest of your fan base. BA hasn’t won squat since 1995 – and counting.
The El Rancho coaching staff from Freshman to Varsity are all pathetic. Nobody knows what they are doing. There’s kids that will be leaving that program next year because of the coaching staff. I hear that they will be moving up the idiot Freshman Coach what a joke. No wonder kids want to leave next year. There’s no leadership. SMH!
