You’re one of the coaches that got fired. Ramos is doing an amazing job as the head coach at Schurr. Be proud that Schurrs program is doing well and is back to being a champion. Your stupid comment about thanking Jude gives you away. The staff has done a great job of preparing the kids and the kids execute. Schurr doesn’t run Ramos’s offense but they still run dive and veer very effectively. Those two plays are part of the “tell” offense you talk about lol.

You sound like a hater. Maybe someone that was part of the old staff that got fired. You should be happy with all the success and be hopeful that the future is bright and they can run off the league titles off and cif runs again. Stop being so sour you couldn’t get it done and they brought someone in that could.

    @ Reality Check,
Elias won’t be at Cantwell next year but he will be a head coach somewhere with Jude on his staff. Great young mind and the kids really connect with the coach. He will have a lot of offers to pick from so where he ends up no one knows. Schurr has a real good shot to run the table if they can get by tomorrows long drive.

We have problems right here at the ranch and your gonna go throw shade on someone else? …please! You guys blame the kids for quitting when it starts at home with the parents and the coaches, particularly medrano. Then we have half the team disgruntled after you and other people blame the kids but medrano is sooo great? Now more kids don’t wanna play next year. Your talking out of your neck bro. Cantwell made the playoffs and love their coach. Its el rancho that has kids unhappy and wanting to leave for a fact!!! …

I made the mistake of “venting” on this blog last year. Won’t do it again. If I need to tell our coach that I think his azz sucks buttermilk thru a straw, he has an open door. If needed, we can both tell each other off and then move on. I have too much respect for our coaches to make the same mistake again. I may not always agree with something but I am not the coach. All us arm chair quarterbacks have that luxury of hindsight.
All coaches deserve to be treated the same way. Need to vent? They are used to it, and more than able, and willing, to go toe to toe with your opinions right back.
No Coach or school deserves to be hung out to dry with only 1 sided ( and usually wrong ) comments on blogs. Especially being blind sided and hung out to dry by someone that has zero affiliations to a school they are ragging on.
I always laugh at Ron White’s saying….”Next time you have an thought….let it go”.
That advice has served me well this last year. And let my mouth heal back up from being overly stretched out from my foot.
Got a gripe? Go to the source.

I now return this blog to the regular scheduled rants all ready in progress…..

Maybe the poll is a little out of order, but all of these teams are doing great and the kids are getting better each week and having fun doing it.

or is ramos going to step down and let jude be the HC?

Jude is merely helping a friend out at schurr this year… next year he will be somewhere else… He’s going to be a OC or HC somewhere next year… hopefully he stays in the area and dont go back to the OC.

By no means am I a Arroyo fan to be honest I don’t even like them. But hey if you could get in playoffs yearly with a chance at a ring I’ll take it. Those teams that talk down on them haven’t won a ring or it’s been a while.

Then the guys that say well it’s division 12 or 11 now. So what if I’m in that division 1-13 I’m there to win it.

No hate at all towards Arroyo, if these rankings are about how a team is doing in their corner of the universe, then props for another great season for the Knights, however on the field I’m pretty sure teams 7 through 11 would beat the knights, although the Knights might hang tough with one or two of them.
@ TTT if Arroyo is able to hang tough with Diamond Ranch then I’m pretty sure they would hang with Burbank.
@ Anonymous, I don’t get how Downey is a whole different class of football, them and South Hills would be a great game this year, now if Downey could have hung with Santa Margarita then I would say they were a different class of football, but 56 to 0 puts Downey in the same boat as the rest of this list.

    Two Cents
your comments on ranking make sense. But the ranking process is inherently flawed.

Some teams will win, and they might win in a weaker division with less competitive teams. You take any team and put them in a weak schedule in a league populated by weak sisters and they will get a walk over in their first playoff game. Then it will get more interesting as they start to play the higher seeded teams in their division.

Teams are in Division 11-12 for a reason.

but it makes for good banter as most of these lower division teams do not play or if they do beat higher division teams but on occasion. Would Arroyo beat Aracadia or San Marino? We can talk all day long, but it will never happen unless somebody were to make a huge donation to each school and that would be questionable

Poor old San Marino has to go to SB to play Bishop Diego. Not only does Cal Preps rate BD at 37 to SM’s 19 but you look at the rosters. BD is obviously recruiting or something. They have Samoans that are 300 lbs plus on the line.. Their DL and OL look to average 275-280 a man. SM has guys on the line that weigh a lot less than 200. BD beat other teams that were CAL Prep ranked in the 20s by 30 points.

Anything can happen but geez this does not look good. No wonder BD is the one seed.

BD is just another Sierra Canyon Paraclete on its way to Division 2 or 3. If SM holds it to a 3 score game the mid valley should posthumously move SM up to the ten spot or higher even with the loss.

I dont understand the hate for Aroyo, didnt they beat three teams that are still in the top 18? Covina, South El Monte, and Shurr? They’re a good team, it doesnt matter what division they’re in as long as they’re winning. You cant take that away from the kids and coaches. How many can say they had an undefeated regular season? You guys that are saying “Burbank and downey would beat them” may be true but it will never happen. Players and coaches only play the teams that are in front of them, thats all that they can control. Woulda shoulda coulda is just that, hyperbole!

    @Buttermilk,
Obviously you’ve never played a down of football or your one of those people who think the earth is flat. There is football played outside the fish bowl we call the SGV. They play some very tough, hard nosed, physical football North of ventura. I’ve been on many a bus ride with athletically dominate teams only to come back with an L. It’s not just Santa Maria your playing, it’s the Santa Maria community, the long bus ride in traffic and the cold weather. It makes a big difference when the majority of your team has never been North of downtown LA. Have fun junior…. And don’t speed up there. Cops up there would like nothing better than to bust a little boy like you.

Arroyo would probably finish top 3 in the Pacific. Arcadia, CV, and burbank are no push overs and muir seems to be ascending back to where they used to be. CV won a cif title a couple of years ago and went undefeated doing it by beating la serna in the semis and Downey in the final, burbank was just in the D8 final last year and could have if they had made a couple of more plays. I would love to hear what factual reasoning the midvalley guys can come up with as to why you would jump arroyo and south hills over downey. Tells 2 things, first they really want the local teams to be good, 2nd they clearly have not seen Downey. 2 different classes of football. Arroyo would win 1 maybe 2 league games in the SGVL.

From Duane B.: You obviously haven’t been visiting this site long enough to know how we operate! First, the poll is more for fun than anything else and to promote discussion and a place for people to interact. And 2, I have seen Downey! I was there when they lost in overtime to Paramount. Game story is October 7, 2017! Here’s an idea. Instead of just saying we suck, give the folks reading some insight and reasons why they should be higher! As far as Arroyo goes, I would like Arroyo’s chances with Lynwood, Dominguez and Warren and would give Gahr a decent game!

Arroyo, Schurr and South El Monte all lose Friday. Arroyo is underestimating Rancho Mirage thinking that last year counts on Friday. Schurr is not prepared for the long bus ride to Santa Maria. Honestly, Arroyo is a good program. But only good in the area they are in. Before last year when divisions were much more competitive, everyone waited for the Arroyo Hypes to go down in the playoffs. They remind me of the Cowboys in the NFL. They may look decent during season play against their own. But they consistently choked when they went about 15 miles east or west. Yes they won CIF and I won’t take that away from the kids, but you adults always rank Arroyo as if they would stand a chance against teams like Downey and Burbank. At most maybe compete with diamond ranch and I’m not even sure about Arcadia but lets get serious around here. Reading these rankings are blasphemous.
