    @San Dimas Fan,

I agree. I have never seen such a disgraceful disrespect for the game of football. Forget the fact that they were outmatched and got beat badly; that happens sometimes. But the way these players and coaches behaved because they were losing was disgusting. The game of high school football is supposed to be about more than w’s and l’s but clearly it’s not that way for cathedral.

I don’t think you would hear anything from their staff about it, but Steven Ocariz-arguably their best offensive player-was injured in the Lakeside game and did not play last night. He is a HUGE part of what they do offensively both as a runner and receiver. the fact that they got the game to OT says a great deal about their kids and staff.

On another note, I know that there are some people out there that like to compare Arroyo to teams in higher divisions, and say there is no way Arroyo could beat so-and-so, and they would get killed by so-and-so. Like a lot of schools in the lower divisions, Arroyo has some very good football players-not great, but good. The major difference between the elite teams and the lower division teams is the depth. When a Mater Dei or Mission Viejo loses a starter or two, the have a back up that is probably better than the starter at most lower division schools. Those teams also do not have a lot of 2-way kids like the Arroyos and South El Montes of the world. Depth is one of the biggest issues that the lower division schools have to deal with.

Most informed people will tell you that this Arroyo team was nowhere near as talented overall as last seasons championship team. They lost a great deal of talent from last years group, yet they still went undefeated into the qtr-finals, and had an opportunity to win that game. Great job by the players and coaches on a great season.

No Arroyo story? Guess the MVS is scared of getting blasted. I know there was no coverage out there but they did finish 11-1 and had a great season.

We got beat by a superior team simple as that. Upland is a D1 team and it showed. One of the biggest factors though was coaching. Cathedral coaching absolutely pathetic. From personnel choices, to discipline, to special teams execution (which flipped the momentum of the entire game before half time). I wouldn’t be surprised if Bryce Young is checked out of school by Monday. Can’t expect to keep great talent around with such poor coaching.

I’ve witnessed such behavior from the Cathedral fan base and players. They actually had the audacity to mock Mater Dei supporters during its 7on7 match vs the Monarchs at the Battle at the Beach. Then they tried “barking” at Bosco. Bosco then proceeded to spank them like misbehaved children and ran them off the field. As I recall, the quote from a Bosco player was “let’s shut up their false sense of Bravado.”

This was supposed to be the year. We need to stop making excuses for our kids getting beat. We are seriously back to square 1. The cupboards are bare and it’s not the coaches fault. We have to do some heavy (convincing) of kids to come our way. We barley beat a young Monteghetto and I sure hope we don’t tank. The worst thing is we are probably going to be brought up to Division 11 or maybe 10 and Monkeybello is probably going down a division. The future is bleak!

I saw enough of the games this year from the tope 3 teams in the Almont (Schurr, Montebello, and Bell Gardens) and I agree with a couple of people that have commented on this blog. The Schurr and Montebello coaches are going to go out in force this offseason, both teams are losing a ton of seniors and the lower levels were depleted at best (especially Schurr). If I am a parent of a underclassmen at Montebello or Schurr I would be concerned for my sons playing time because these coaches are going to go out and RECRUIT! No such thing as home grown talent with these men. Good luck to all the Almont League teams this offseason.

I went to the Upland -Cathedral game expecting a great match. Well now I understand some of the hate for Cathedral. I know most high school kids are still maturing but the cathedrals conduct when they new it was Over was pretty pathetic. Cheap shots, late hits, kids taking off their shoulder pads and jersey because they were dominated by Upland. Yes granted in was only a hand full of kids behaving that way but the perception is that all behaved that way. I suggest Cathedral fans should stop touting how great they are until they win a CIF title, which I’ve checked has never happened.

Karma! Im not one to come on here and talk trash. I really wanted Schurr High School to win the CIF title this year. It would have been good for our league.

But come on, after all the trash talking about how Schurr was best team in the division and how they had this in the bag. Also, all the trash talking about BGHS and how how horrible the people in BG are and how BGHS sucked. Thats what happens.

Isn’t it funny how Schurr bad mouthed BGHS and the community all year, but the only player at Schurr that did anything was a BGHS kid? Clearly the best player in the league and on the Schurr team.
    Schurr was nothing without him.

I remember calling my friend coach Ramos over at Schurr, I said coach I remember when I played we went to Paso Robles (now that was far) and lost 7-6. I know if coach would have given the kicker an extra churro we would have won the game. Just some advice when traveling to remote locations.

Everyone knows that Estrada is Schurr’s weak link. The guy doesn’t know how to make adjustments. He has no business coordinating a defense. When Ramos finally discovers that, maybe they’ll have a chance.

BHS vs SH was a great game, back and forth. BHS was falling behind, pulling even, taking big hits, giving big hits, pulling ahead, amd finally overcomming the SH coaches unsportsmanlike conduct (comming out late at the start of the game and for the 2nd half, not having their players neal for injured Bulldogs, SH coaches trying to start a fite at game end handshakes – check pix and video). This years players and coaches are composed and can play/coach as well as the best ever at BHS. Success and confidence in a program builds on itself. Dont bet against The Bank.

Yes, Schurr and Ramos had a great season. However, Ramos and Schurr choked!!!!

Schurr was the heavy favorite to win it all this year. They had the best team and talent in the division. The truth of the matter is that Ramos just isn’t a good enough coach to take a team over the top!

Yes, he has put a good program together. But after this year, it’s time to start all over again. All his talent is gone. Time to bring a new coach to take Schurr to the next level. And no, it’s not Jude!

    Dissappointed! Big time!

Arcadia BLOWS 3 score lead, coaches let them down. How do you not punt up two touchdowns from opponents 45 yard line? You risk giving Katella short field to get back in the game. Well they did score from short field, continued to score and won game.
POLICKY lost this game!!! Katella 41-35 OT Bad coaching cost overtime too, wide receiver obviously injured could hardly move and they relied on him to make a play? 1st and goal on the 6, four plays to score, probably could have run it in???????????

Arcadia blew a 35-14 second half lead, survived an inexplicable fake field goal from the 1 yard line on the last meaningful play of regulation to survive into OT, gave up a TD but blocked the kick, drove down to 3rd down on the 4, and then ended their season with two incomplete passes.
