    Warren is trash. They have a few guys that look good but can’t play no ball.

    Yea but that’s just 7 vs 7 stuff, you know those things aren’t realistic. I’m hoping they have the lineman up front to run the ball and stop the run. I actually heard Warren has several skill positions that look promising.

    @The Ranch. When was the last time Bonita or ER whalloped anybody? I guess that why ER has scheduled Little Sisters of the Poor type teams for 2018. Maybe they can beat some of those.

    D10 Scout, no such thing, put the name of the school you’re backing, ER and Bonita would still wallop the school you’re backing.

    @D10,

    I was responding to a few of the people who brought Bonita up such as Bonita Alum, BoHiFan, and BHS. There is no other hidden agenda. While I would like to see an ER Bonita game because it would be pretty fun, I doubt that it would even happen. I have also pointed out that there is a possibility Bonita doesn’t even make the playoffs because of league play.

    And since you want to talk about history, the Bonita class of 2019 went 10-0 and the class of 2020 also went 10-0 as Freshmen. They are now Juniors and Seniors in a low division that would be prime picking for the Bearcats.
    Chaffey is not a very good team and never really has been. I’m not sure about Simi Valley, and Burroughs will likely miss the playoffs because of league play. So no, there isn’t a “nefarious purpose.”

    FBFan and others are raising Bonita Fans hopes for their own nefarious purposes. Saying Bonita should be a lock to win at D10 is fake and phony. FBfan being student of football that looks at past results from 3 years ago would do well by looking at last year. Bonita edged out in the last seconds a 0-10 Diamond Bar team playing D12 football 42-39. I think FBfan is trying to raise expectations of Bonita so that just in case Bohi and ER meet in D10 and Bohi wallops them ER fans can say “They were supposed to”. “Bohi has great players and a great coach”, no not so much. Bohi more than earned there D10 ranking. My top D10 picks are Simi Valley, Chaffey and Burbank Burroughs. A D10 title is nice but it is far more meaningful for teams moving on up than teams like Bonita and ER that are moving on down. Congrats to Arroyo and SEM, moving on up.

    @BHS,

    Wow, I don’t think there is a single person who has done more for Bonita athletics in the last 15 years than Eric Podley and you want him out? He was the AD during the Kettering years and was the guy who hired great coaches such as Knott, Eckler, Baumunk, Godley, Medrano, and now Bogan. He had a couple of bad hires but do you have any idea how hard it is to hire good coaches now especially since most are now walk ons? If you don’t like Podley then that’s fine but at least appreciate all the things that man has done for your school.

  15. BHS's Gravatar BHS
    June 9, 2018 - 11:38 pm | Permalink

    The reason why Bonita is in D10 is because Podley didn’t make the right hire. Podley calls the shots at Bonita, he might make a good football coach but he can’t hire coaches. Baseball coach after one year fired, football coach after two years fired and softball program had to forfeit games. The sooner they let Podley go the better. When Kedderline was the principal Bonita was the poster school of the San Gabriel Valley.
    Again Bonita should not be in D10 with the demographics they have. If they make the playoffs no D10 should beat them. In league they don’t beat Colony, Ayala, and Glendora. Claremont has the same demographic but is also a poorly run school and I don’t know much about the other team in league.

    Let’s say Bonita gets in right……
    Now the question is will they be healthy enough for the playoffs.
    South El Monte and Schurr don’t face such a brutal league schedule. Most of them guys stays healthy. Regardless you still gotta play the game, SEM and Schurr are both way better programs than 2015. Bonita needs to get better!

    @Bonita Alum,

    It won’t last very long. Smudgepot will be back in La Verne and Bonita will jump division me after a CIF title this year. The tougher challenge is league play. If Bonita gets in, they will be the team no one in D-10 wants to see.

    @BoHiFan
    “3 years ago, we wouldn’t have even taken a phone call from these programs.”

    2015
    Game1
    Bonita 49 Schurr 2
    Bonita 49 South El Monte 7

    Looks like they did more than take their phone calls. I was at the SEM game and it could have been 100-0 by 3rd qtr. if Medrano wouldn’t have called the dogs off. Expect the same type of scores in the playoffs.
    I know you yearn for the days of the Podley/Medrano era but move on and be a good fan.

    Arcadia has made it to the quarters the last two seasons and Burroughs has won a total of eight games
    during that time and half of those wins coming from Glendale and Hoover and the other four wins are
    Pasadena and Royal

    Welp at least the bearcats can’t fall much further. As I look at the coming schedule at best we end up 2-3 non-league and 2-3 in league. Is this good enough to get into the D10 playoffs? Bonita does have a QB but seems to lack a line to protect him. Kind of weird CIF considers So. El Monte, Whittier, El Rancho and Schurr as equals. 3 years ago we wouldn’t even take a phone call from these programs.

    @Falcon1, Arcadia have had one good season and Burroughs one bad season. I don’t think success or decline can be judged off of one season. If you judge both programs within the last five years, Burroughs belongs in the higher division.

    AnnnnonnnimousDELETED.

    Get the CIF Bluebook and read how teams qualify into groupings for yourself. You can also thank some teams for not accurately posting their scores by playing the same team 2 times or a team in their league that is from Ohio, of course with the same scores etc.

    So, If La Mirada plays Gabrielino, Gabby’s schedule is tougher and higher than if they played Workman. Just as La Mirada’s would be a lessor schedule; even though they scored 80 Pts. They would rank lower because of points from Gabby, thus the next year they might be dropped to a lower division thats if they don’t get into the semi-finals in the division they are in now.

    Here is a link to CIF ‘s explanation of the divisions groupings. https://cifss.org/sport-news/2018-football-playoff-divisions-point-explanation

    It will be interesting to see if Duarte, Workman and Marshall will even field teams this season. No HC at any of them and less then a dozen players out for any kind of spring ball.
    So that means that some very good players will miss out on their senior season. The irony here is that these same players can’t transfer without paying a heavy price. CIF, joke, should allow a transfer if school lose their programs like this.

    From T. Peterson: The truth is we don’t see that many Paraclete games unless they play somebody local or it’s a playoff/Final game. But we do like to keep track. It’s always interesting to see what Division they’re in because they are always a contender.
