@OilerNation, bahahahaha. So not one word about your team except to say they are young, will play hard, will compete daily, only time will tell, tough players, in our DNA and my favorite “hopefully we gel”. You talked more about us then you. Bahahahaha, your a clown. 2-8 if your lucky. And I will let a bunch of the kids know MHS is taking anyone. Smell that – it’s call desperation. D Day coming soon enough. Spartans buddy.

Was out there last week at practice and all I can say to my fellow Schurr peeps is come out and support this years team. Kids have a real good shot of winning league and making a run in the playoffs. Ramos has improved every year and this year will be no different. August 17th first game at home against an old Whitmount team CAL Go Spartans!

I hope these kids have a plan in case there transfers are denied. I dont know how these players paperwork are not in yet. Check CIF website, it shows paperwork that’s in for players of any school. See the QB on list is under review, but no one else. Hope CIF clears them in a week or 2 for the player’s sake, but it usually takes around that time for it to happen. It would be a shame if these kids seasons are in jeopardy with the season so close away. Hoping well for players only in this situation, it’s not their faults.

I agree when you get a kid that wants to transfer that’s probably normal. But when you have coaches on your staff showing up at a kids house and giving him and parents the scam of address changes to 8-12 kids. Now come on man does cheating to win and compromise your integrity REALLY mean that much? We all have to answer for our life’s trust me I’m no saint but at the end of the day, let’s do the right thing and practice what we preach. If you beat a team with kids from outside of your town it really shows how ridiculous Men’s pride gets. “Pride comes before the fall” I think I read that somewhere.

Transfers are common. Move on! Work with what you get or have. BG got one of Schurr’s running back two years ago. Montebello got one of Schurr’s running back as well last year. Schurr gets transfers and the whole world is about to crumble

MHS has a good junior class and a great O-line coach, not a great line. If the QB just manages the games Montebello will be fine. Are you serious?

@ Play OT: As I said, ties in high school football are rare, and, around here, they’re only possible during nonleague play.
Your first comment is correct. For a nonleague game to end in a tie, there would have to be an agreement between the coaches beforehand not to go to overtime.
I’ve always favored playing overtime; I don’t like ties, either.

In a few weeks it begins and then we will see who got it wrong and who got it right. Can’t wait to see how the going men at BG do they have bought into the system the coach Beltran has taught them the team looks very much improved from his first year lots of skill guys team looks faster and stronger. But you still have to play the game good luck to all in the Almont except when you play BG.

only if the coaches agree to not do OT will there be a tie! I mean who plays for a tie in the new system. Ties do not help at all. If the league has a rule not to do OT games then they should ammend that quickly. If no OT allowed in football in a league then why do it in any sports in that league. Again, commenting on the a team could break even in the preseason.

@ Almont League Insider & Last Stand: With the bar set so low for the Almont League, perhaps we could have a pleasant surprise or two this season. Let the games begin!

@ Anonymous & Coacher: A team could (theoretically) break even in a five-game nonleague schedule by going 2-2-1. Ties are rare nowadays, but they occasionally happen during nonleague play.

Montebello has a good junior class and a great O-line coach. Pete will not let Montebello go 1-4 in pre-season. If the QB just manages the games Montebello will be fine. I seen all three teams this summer(Montebello, BG, and Schurr) all three will be in the playoffs, what order I don’t know.

Good luck to the league….getting it’s a$$ kicked in non league and no one advancing past first round in cif…..an that is if cif is forced to put any of these teams in. oh wait I forgot the league champ HAS to be put in. sad.
