    @ QB Dad:
If you really know our program then you would know that Montebello had 2 senior QB’s last season. Both were pretty good. Are you saying they should have not given a senior playing opportunities before he graduates to let a junior play? The junior played JV all season. He had his chance to play and learn. Should’t he be responsible to learn from guys in front of him as well as from the coaching? Especially since the last 2 QB’s at Montebello have ended their careers as MVP of the Almont League. Sometimes it’s the players? Unless your just a QB dad from the stands. My good friend’s son was the backup last season as a senior and he could have been a starter at a lot of other schools. He put his time in and I for one am glad that the Montebello coaches didn’t put him to the curb just because he was a senior and play a junior for this season. Thanks again coaches, I enjoyed watching him play and thanks for all you do.

Some people like to blame coaches at programs for their kids short comings or lack of skills..Kids and parents need to go get that off season work for their goals..Take ownership of their performance on the field…video games ,girlfriends, popularity and movies or working out, training and film study

@Anon, it because they didnt give the QB any off season work, they have no QB coach, they gave him no reps last year when they had the chance and they thought they were going to land another local kid to take the spot. The kid will play his heart out on Friday and probably will be the difference maker but hard to play for a coach when he has never had your back for three years and he knows it.

MHS’s QB is a senior yet is struggling. He has been there for the last three years. What does that say about the program?! Is it a coaching issue? Schurr’s QB looks better yet he is only a Sophomore

How about the live shows with guest coaches, players, commentators and crazy Andy. Back then the fight with the Tribs Aram and Fred was full blown until the Trib folded like an old tent. I thought the internet news was a lock to succeed but I guess not. Plus a lot of posters would never have thought to use Anon or LS. They identified themselves stating who they were, what school they were reping and when and where you could find them. Those dudes were the real thing. BTW BK was an old Bonita guy.

You people make it sound like you have found the holy grail of preps web sites. If you like to read trash talk you should have seen MVS in 2010. West Covina, South Hills,Bonita were at each others throats. Rosemead and Azusa were off the hook. The bloggers were insane. 200 plus posts on multiple threads every week until after the first round of the playoffs. Today is nothing compared to those years.

Many people confuse the concept of free speech with their supposed right to practice that speech on somebody else’s property or media outlet. When we comment here, we do so as guests of the owners, just as we would be guests at their homes. Viewed this way, we must acknowledge the absolute right of Tim and Duane to do what they wish with our input. As Duane has said, those who disagree with this situation are free to go elsewhere or create their own sports enterprise. As a sidenote, I’d like to thank our hosts for their work in keeping this media outlet going….you’re doing a lot of good for the athletes and their fans.

  26. October 9, 2018 - 2:41 pm | Permalink

Why doesn’t everybody just let the KIDS PLAY. Most of these young men attended elementary and middle school together. They probably also made friends playing for the Indians (or other organizations) as well as Golden State basketball or baseball at local parks, now they find themselves playing against one another and looking forward to a good game against old friends.

    @Duane,

Same for you little girl. You’re supposed to act as a journalist but you’re nothing close to it. You’re more concerned about your feelings rather then the truth. I’m not lucky. But at least I can take the rebuttals. Clown…

From Duane: Funny…you call me a clown but yet it’s you who keeps coming back to a site you hate because you don’t get your way!

I let this ridiculous comment through as a final parting gift! I’m sure you’ll get all the attention you need from the Whittier Daily or the Trib!

@OilerNation, those kids on the sidelines you ask about are unbelievable kids with bright futures that you have no idea about. This isn’t just about football for them. I have gotten to know them and even though they may not be playing in Friday’s game their influence is felt throughout the team. The good Lord has His plan for them but you would need to be to part of this FAMILY to understand that. Best of luck to both teams Friday night.

    Peterson or Duane?

Quit editing my posts. People need to know the truth about what’s happening!

From Duane: After all the garbage you’ve spewed at Tim and me consider yourself lucky that ANY of your comments are approved.
If you want people to know YOUR truth write an op-ed and pitch it to the Whittier Daily! Maybe they’ll post it. Otherwise I’m sure who you know in the Oiler program would rather you promote the program instead of embarrassing it!

    DT,

I don’t care what Pete did at SP. If you did then that’s on you. He’s been at MHS for 10 years now and your still talking about rumors at SP? Sound like you have an obsession with Coach Pete…. Maybe he fired you…Let it go already. He didn’t cost any kid their eligibility..What do you think about those kids that will be on the sidelines on Friday?

Looking forward to a good game Friday night. Lots of the kids from MHS are family to some of us here at Schurr so this runs deep. Sad part is how many of the kids we lose from the Indians to others schools. Garfield has 4 really good kids that should be playing in this game. Downey has one, La Serna has a few, another at Torres and Cantwell has a few. The talent level has dropped significantly this year for these two teams but for us we are young. The QB is only a sophomore and 4 of the starting lineman are juniors. Hope everyone stays healthy for the rest of the year. Go Spartans!

Good to hear MHS QB will be ready for Friday’s game. Schurr Sophomore QB has improved drastically over these last three weeks . Best two players in the league are the Schurr receiver and MHS running back. Whoever has the bigger game will help his team win this game. Sadly though, these are probably the two worst teams to play in this rivalry but should still make for an interesting game. Leave the transfer BS at the door please.
