We gotta big week this week. Why argue over a game that ER pulled out a win…winning is winning.

No one thought we’d be in this position to have a game for the league title. Let’s celebrate that. ER has a true shot at coming out victorious but I know it wont be an easy task. GO DONS!!!!

You are correct about one thing, all I have to do is see Almont or Alhambra in the first sentence and I go back to watching my home theater big screen. Can’t get fired up over schools that play 10 divisions lower than La Serna and still have trouble winning games. That’s crazy funny.

While I do thank Ron for coming to the rescue of a thread that was out of control, I don’t think the length of his post was sufficient to rid the group of all obnoxious parties. To achieve the right soporific effect, we need the man to drone on for a least a page or two, making a personal connection with every commenter. In other words, do an MVS filibuster. When guys like LS see the enormous reading task involved, they will take their short attention span elsewhere.

@TheRanch18 haha you’re too funny. You’re starting to sound like LS. All I said was you made it sound like we should have blown out Montebello. The facts are the facts we didn’t. Should of , could of but we didn’t. This tteam continues to grow and not look back. In reality the only game they would want another crack at is Pomona. But that too is in their rear view mirror. But I will agree to your last two paragraphs. They’re spot on. FYI not a bandwagon. I have been in the program for 30 years. Good luck to your future Don. Enjoy the game on Friday.

    @ER Pops, LMAO!!!!hahahahaah

lol… i dont represent ER? why bc im realistic? i speak on facts, not emotions. Lets unwrap them panties up bc you got them all knotted up full of emotions. lol…..

Facts are: “WE” (as in ER) jumped ahead on Montebello , California, & Bell Gardens….. then what happened? we blew our cushion! but we adjusted and came out with the W!
how is that bad mouthing ER, its facts.
Yes you are correct im not a parent of a ER player on THIS team… so for that reason in your opinion I dont represent ER Footbll ? LOL LMFAO hahahaahahahaha
you must be one of those BandWagon Parents who come and go… once your child leaves dont forget about us ok, mR die hard Er football… better yet since ive been to all your sons games, start next year and come to mine 🙂 lol ….

iF we jump ahead on LS, WE MUST keep the foot on gas pedal bc LS will adjust and come back with a vengeance!!!! and ill be realistic pops, we wont be able to get the W.

now what i love about this team is their RESILIENCE, PRIDE, and HEART ….. now that comes form good leadership from coaches and seniors…. this years seniors show much more and are leaving a larger impact than previous… win or lose vs LS…. as a Program we already won, this team was supposed to go 2-8 and they are sitting pretty at 7-2!!!!!!!!!!

True we had the lead In the Montebello game but in the end iwe had to pull out a victory. Our boys are preparing for an epic battle w La Serna that will require us to play our best ball of the season. There is no need to call out a team or speak of any of the games ER player this year . It’s been a one game at a time approach and nothing is changing this week.

LS the only reason the ER faithful posts is to knock the numerous posts from LS down a notch from this high pedestal of “whittier” You and your other LS fake accounts are always on. knocking down ER as if your team is so far superior then all in the DRL. But Friday night ER is gonna give you a game and you’ll have us to thank for testing you before you go to the playoffs.

Is it so wrong to root for your team and think they’re favored to win. You do the same thing. Or wait, you probably think we should say things like “Oh well I hope we win, but ER has no chance against LS” “Oh I wish ER were as good as LS” like come on man, gimme a break. This whole thought process of how LS is so much better then everyone is getting old quick. Your tone is if ER fans are beneath you and their not.

@PB&J. Looking forward to a El Rancho-La Serna title game? Now that is ambitious. The Donna’s still have to get by Cal and Santa Fe. Yeah they beat Whittier but my scouts tell me Whittier gave that game away. Cal or Santa Fe will beat you guys, maybe both. If by some miracle it ends up a title game I’am very curious what the score prediction is from the other side of the tracks. Mine is 56-3 LS…………..at the half.

Sooooo….. what was that about CAL or Santa Fe beating ER???? Looks like my ambitions came to be and this Friday night is for the league title!!! You should be thanking us. Because now you’ll be tested before going into your divisions playoff run. And this test you might not win. Nothing guaranteed this Friday. Hell LS almost lost to Whittier last week hahaha. La Serna WAS Division 3 for a reason…that reason is now coaching somewhere else. La Serna is now Division 5, lost to Santa Fe last year while Whittier played them tough and El Rancho MIGHT give them a game. Let us all understand something, La Serna is not the dominant program it once was. La Serna will lose First or Second Round and drop to Division 6. Sadly, all of the La Serna fans will be excited about this but we all can remember a time when the program use to strive for more. Sad…

@Anonymous, make no mistake, La Serna is NOT a terrible team. El Rancho will have it’s hands full with them and will need to play its “A” game in order to have a chance to beat them. La Serna is in division 5 for a reason. Should be a good game though. Both teams are well coached

@ Almont League: I believe the league is actually somewhat better now, from top to bottom, than it was in 2010 and ’11, when only the top two teams made the playoffs.
However, I agree that there’s still a lot of room for improvement. I’ve been arguing for years that CIF should reconfigure the leagues in the San Gabriel Valley; it’s long overdue.
There are huge disparities in the quality of play within a number of the leagues, especially when it comes to football. (The Almont, Rio Hondo, and Mission Valley Leagues have been prime examples.)

@ Moorover: For the record, I was among the earliest skeptics concerning Alhambra’s number one ranking. (It was nice while it lasted, though.)
El Monte, with its powerhouse offense, is rightfully at the top now.
But, don’t give up on Alhambra just yet. We played what I’d call a “semi-tough” nonleague schedule, earning victories over two pretty good teams (South El Monte and L.A. Wilson) and another over a so-so Rowland squad.
Temple City and South Pasadena are both in rebuilding mode; I’ll give you that much.
Whether the Montebello Oilers are solid as a rock, or are doing it with smoke and mirrors, they’ll be league co-champions if they beat San Gabriel on Friday. We’ll have to give them some credit if they accomplish that.

If ER pulls off the upset and beats LS, they should have a featured thread. They’ve been underdogs all season minus Cantwell sacred heart. But the offense has been putting up numbers, and from the montebello game the defense finally is clicking on all cylinders. Making open tackles, defending passes. It’s gonna heavy weight bout type of game. I can’t wait!!

@Sports man… 95% of high school football teams would not survive the Trinity League. Trinity is not the standard but an outlier. Trinity teams can recruit and offer scholarships to make Mater Dei and Bosco pre-college teams. APU would have a hard time surviving the Trinity. This is the reason the great coach Bob Johnson refused to be grouped with those teams So please stop your superiority complex for teams that work with public money and use the limited resources available to them. Yes, I know what you may say, public high schools can recruit for new transfers. That may be true, but you tell me what a parent or kid may choose, a public high with limited resources or a private school with prestige and great resources? Its a simple decision.
