El Rancho is looking pretty good in the Del Rio, would not surprise me at all if they give La Serna a tight game this year.
You never know for sure, but I had a pretty good feeling that Northview was not quite ready for this years Los Altos team. The Conquerors played Glendora too tough to get beat by even the new and improved Northview teams. The same for Cathedral when it came to Bishop Amat. Props to good old St. Paul, back in their days, they manhandled teams the caliber of Sierra Canyon on a regular basis. Came up short on Friday, but made quite a good game out of what most on hear including me, thought would be a Sierra Canyon route.
@fridayknights, there you go again you say you can’t and you won’t make excuses for getting your butts kicked well that’ is exactly what you’re doing always whining always crying do everyone a favor and stay off the blogs with your crying it’s getting real old …………… if you think you’re advocating for ARROYO THINK again it is having the opposite effect …. they have a good coaching staff at ARROYO they don’t deserve your negative attention …..DS
Man Friday Knights is taking a pounding on the boards.
MVL run down.
EM played Eagle Rock. Like most expected EM dominated the game. For EM is CIF or bust. They’re probably rolling through league with ease. Davon Booth clear and away the MVP of the league. Arroyo on the heels of getting taken to the wood shed presumably doesn’t have the dudes up front to slow down the lions rushing attack.
South El Monte had an Offensive explosion vs La Canada. Not a powerhouse but if anyone needed a victory it was South El Monte. You gotta wonder just who the Eagles really are the team that put up forty vs Nogales and LC or the team that muster any offense like vs Alhambra? At their best they could vie for second place at their worst it’s fourth place and a 4-6 record so which is it? I’m predicting 5-5 missing the playoffs.
Rosemead wins big over arrowhead Christian. Rosemead rebounds over a heartbreak loss to Schurr. The Panthers confidence must be sky high going into league play. Second place is reach but they must fend off Arroyo and SEM to get there.
Arroyo will probably lose two in a row traveling to Monrovia. Really anxious to see how the knights respond from adversity. It’s time to show their heart or fade. I’m betting they come out and show some fight.
Gabrielino wins again. Again vs Keppel I know I know but for gab any win is a good win. Confidence has got to be high. Can they battle in the MVL second place…. probably not but stranger things have happened
Mountain is bad even by MV standards. Oh well there’s always next year.
@Klaude: I cover the Del Rio. Is that to tough for you to figure out. I guess I have to spell it out for you. L-S h-a-s-n-o-t-b-e-e-n-t-e-s-t-e-d-y-e-t. Got it now?
No that wasn’t ER messing up, the game was supposed to be at MHS until a few days leading up to the matchup the price to play at MHS was too much so they flipped a coin for the location and split the gate, they couldn’t control whether calpreps updates its information or not.
Come on they won them in 8 man football. Your HC is proving you a liar he already posted your injuries and HINT it was 6. Glenn puts up points on her, OV and Eagle Rock beat you. Don’t down play ER.
Have I ever made excuses for a loss? NEVER! We got our butts kicked. RHP was is a really good team with a history or winning CIF championships probably the most in SGV history if I’m not mistaken. These things happen when you schedule tough teams. Unlike the kittens who schedule city league teams. Guess what, we got to prepare for a team not like Glenn or Sotomayor nahh we got Monrovia next. We’re just here sharpening the sword. Oh and btw something worth mentioning is how many starters were missing for us last night? Here’s a hint SIX (6) no excuses just worth a mention.
I have been jonesing for the cheese toast from Steak & Stein for few years. ER graciously allowed me to park my RV in a convenient location, so to Don Stadium I went and to Steak $ Stein for a late dinner. Not a good game at all but……for all the ridicule that the ER QB Andrade takes on the blogs for his height I think none of his critics have watched him play. In pads this kid is huge. Whip smart and in charge in a quiet way. You might think his passes would be batted away or he would be harassed into interceptions. No way. He has this little shimmy in the pocket that buys him enough time to find the open receiver and it clears his passing angles that it looks almost simple. He does not run around like Johnny Manzel but stands in the pocket like he’s Big Ben Rothelsburger. I know the Dons were not playing Mater Dei but give this kid a break. He’s pretty dang good.
@del rio watcher-…I would love to know what school you represent? …is it mater die? Or bosco? Please elaborate for the normal folks! Yes we play a tough team next week! Your running your mouth…I hope your school is d5 or better?…what school you represent?
Is La Serna going to play El Rancho next week at Cal Lu.? ER messed up once already in the Garfield game. They said that one was at Montebello and a bunch of people missed that game.
FridayKnights let your Head Coach know El Monte wants that BAKED CAKE or they going to put 70 points up on you guys!!!!
That would be a exciting game that would probably be over by 8:15. Lol
Wait people WTH is going on here. Why hasn’t FridayNights posted anything negative about all the teams that won especially El Monte. Is he sick? Is he thinking up excuse or thinking up lies to come up with on how Rio Hondo prep only had like 20 players but all 20 are transfers..lol wait for it people he will come up with some comical stuff just wait and see
La Serna plays a real team next week. So far they have played a schedule like Sierra Vista’s to be honest. Both teams might be very good but we don’t know yet.
All you Arroyo fans are going to get your chance down the road to judge El Monte. RHP and El Monte are both in D12. I have a strong inkling that’s going to be the CIF finals matchup in the division.
How is it an upset? LA competed against glendora beat a monrovia team they were supposed to lose…….Northview is what D10 if they were elite they would be lower.
This week was full of surprises!
That’s for sure lol …
FINAL SCORE
ROSEMEAD 40 ARROWHEAD CHRISTIAN 20
Is RHP D12 or D13? Hopefully, they are in D12. I would pay to watch the championship game between them and El Monte.
The Double Wing is what happened!
Yes, that Arroyo score was a shocker. Not only do RHP have 20 players but the whole school have maybe 100 students. Great job St. Paul for hanging with Sierra Canyon, everyone made it out alive. Finally, a BIG congratulation to La Salle for winning CIF last night by beating Mountain View. At least, that’s how the players, coaches, and fans were acting by beating a very underwhelming Mountain View team. I realize La Salle hasn’t been good the last few seasons but at least act like you have been there before even though you haven’t. That kind of poor sportsmanship will come back to bite you. Maybe as soon as in two weeks when St. Paul comes to town.
I love reading about upsets on Saturday morning, it keeps things interesting. Props to the underdog.
@Coach Vaugh
No upset here, my friend. Los Altos is a pretty darn good team. Not to mention Northview hadn’t really played anybody until last night. Go Conqs!
Jeez CP, it’s just 1 game lost and you’re already bashing Zamora. He did more in 4 games than the last coach.
Oh and to the commentator(s) getting down on St. Paul for scheduling Trust Fund Baby Canyon, I mean Sierra Canyon, I’d be feeling pretty dumb if I was you. SP almost won. I’m coming in defense of the oldie but goodie programs today, I guess.
I don’t see in any way how LA’s victory over NV was an upset. Much like I fail to understand how anyone thought Monrovia was the favorite over LA, or how Glendora was supposed to man-handle them. The former were STEP-UP games for the losers, whereas Glendora is an equal. LA is still a sizable program that draws some talent. If Brown turns out to not be the guy, they (LA) need to go all out and hire a big name. La Habra and Amat are right up the street, and LA has lost talent to Mater Dei in the past for crying out loud.
Hahahahaha oh my goodness arroyo got felt with… jeeezuss can’t imagine what EM is going to do to them smh straight violate
Hey FridayKnight I don’t want you posting or hearing you mouth the rest of the season. Talking about we got a 250 pound LB that isn’t going to let Booth or Cueva do anything. You just got smoked by a team that has like 20 players and linemen are like 180 pounds. I’m sure there’s no Booth, Cueva, Reyes or Montoya on that team.
#LongVergaLions
Cal High had no clue how to defend the Norwalk double wing. Those little Norwalk linemen were destroying that Cal DL.
Great job Los Altos! Hugh victory over Northview. Talk about an upset!
The one nobody saw coming was Rio Hondo Prep blasting Arroyo 42-0. The one every knowledgeable fan saw coming was Cathedral’s yearly humiliation at the hands of Amat, 45-20. All is well with the Phantoms and the Lancers….they get together each year to demonstrate Bishop’s ownership of the grave dwellers. It’s the Knights I worry about…that loss was beyond the realm of imagination.
Sierra Canyon 28 St Paul 20
Very surprised on the final score, not bad for a small private school to hang with SC.
Rio Hondo Prep 42 vs Arroyo 0
Ls 49 vs Montebello 14 final.
Who saw that Norwalk upset of undefeated almost unscored onCal team coming? Nobody.
@ TheRanch18
So much for the accolades I was giving Zamora and the Condor football program. Norwalk barely beat Bell Gardens and LB Jordan. Those aren’t very good teams and Cal struggled to keep it close.
Best of Luck to all tonight.
Cal was more concerned about Don Lugo than Norwalk and it showed.
Bad Hire! That’s what happened!
They finally played a real football team! Their dominance of garbage and overinflated stats is over!
Qb went down
They finally lined up against a team that wasn’t quite the cupcake they thought and they took the L.
With last night’s spanking at the hands of lowly Norwalk, it appears that Louie Zamora’s honeymoon period has come to an abrupt end. Whittier, too, is looking pretty ordinary in light of how Burbank tossed Arcadia, which last week bested the Cardinals. So, after a brief couple weeks of everyone thinking things have changed in the Del Taco conference, we realize it’s all the same as last year: La Serna is far, far, better than ER…and the rest of them are about as extraordinary as the items on the Del Taco menu.
Arcadia LOL
Guess it is true, Arcadia has resumed normally scheduled programming.
I thought the Arcadia guys could coach? Burbank Receiver had over 300 yards receiving. That doesn’t sound like coaching to me. Guess when the Actual coaches leave, the transfers follow. I hope Arcadia is happy with the Division 8 runner up they got last year. Back to a 5th or 6th finish in the Pacific. Arcadia vs Glendale might be a good one!
How about those poor wittle Burbank Puppies now anon? A little different than whittier, eh apache?
They lost to powerhouse NORWALK
Too many turnovers
Any truth to the whispers of them sitting out starters until league play? Sounds like it backfired.
What happen to CAL???? Anyone got news ?? No
Norwalk 21 Cal 15
