I graduated and played for ER, I’m a Don and have the varsity letter to prove it. I’m extremely proud of ER’s football program and what they have accomplished this year. I hope they shock the world and win the D11 championship. My wife is a Whittier graduate, also my brother in-law played for the Cardinals. I have nieces and nephews that graduated from Cal High and some that have played for the Condors. Last but not least, I have three children that graduated from La Serna, my Son and nephews played for LS.
I’m a true supporter of the Del Rio League…

You would think they had positive and good things about the ranch but… they are the first to say it’s ghetto (when they ghetto ass made it ghetto) they say ER test scores are low ( when they tested below average ) they say my kid didn’t learn anything ( when they been like that since kinder lol)

Okay I bashed the ugly fan sportsmanship but never discussed the game. First you can transfer and go to a football academy or stay home and get coached up at ER by one of the best coaches around. When the game started it looked like a Pee Wee team vs the Packers. By the 2nd half Compton’s big guys were dropping like flies and literally being carried off by their coaches. That heart and physical stamina does not happen by accident. Medrano works his team hard, demands plenty, but with I think 5 returning starters they are still playing again. Nice going boy’s, you make ERfans proud.
Parents will always complain… At certain schools talent is coming in all the time. If you plan on sending your kids to schools like La Serna, La Habra, Glendora, Muir , Monrovia, San Dimas , Los Altos etc… they better be good or get good quick. Being in a program for 4 years does not equal playing time.

Best kids plays don’t matter where they’re from transfers or not. What are coaches supposed to do “oh no you can’t transfer here that’s not fair”. You win kids gonna wanna play for you. Most of the time it’s just other kids trying to get their homies to come play with them. So stop crying.

Here’s a comment on the coaches, how about getting your play calling in on time, instead of causing delay of game penalties again and again. This LA team is gifted with athleticism, Defense is solid. Offense is suspect, look at the 2 losses they have. Couldn’t move the ball against matching athleticism. Eliminate mistakes starts from the play calling and not so much from the playmakers…
I don’t believe the LS coaches that are playing their favorites is taking your kids PT. It’s the players that come in from outside the LS attendance area that sop up the gravy. You live by LS and got a smallish kid that is a Rudy type. He lusts to play football and works his rear off as a freshmen tackling dummy knowing his time will come to shine as a JR. or for sure as a SR. He play’s a corner or maybe a slot receiver and practices his position non stop, often alone. The season rolls around and here comes a stud player who needs to take this class that only LS offers (LOL) from who knows where and bye bye PT. Bonita gave up a 50 burger. How in the world did that happen? According the Box Score they gave up 28 in the first qtr and 30 in 2nd qtr. Bonita also score 14 of 28 pts in the 4th qtr. The Score was 58 – 14 at the half. This leads me to believe that Highland took it out it’s starters early. What a massacre!
@ Concerned LS Parent: since when did this become about your kid? Sounds like this team has been functioning pretty well without him on the field. The Lancers appear to be 11-0 right now for good reason. What has your athlete done that you feel he deserves to be on the field? I’ve never met Coach George but those I have talked to seem to think he’s a stand up guy.
Football is the ultimate team sport; not an individual sport. Don’t be one of those delusional parents that thinks their kid is better than he really is. Today’s current society is all about people having this sense of entitlement for unrealistic reasons. What a shame to start complaining as you approach the 12th week of the season of a team who is currently undefeated.
If Coach George does have an “ego” like you say and is playing “Favorites”, I’d suggest sticking with it because they’ve been doing pretty well for the past 11 games.
Just a suggestion: sit back and enjoy the success of the “TEAM” that your son is a part of.
Great job, La Serna, but it’s truly bothersome to know that my son is 100% capable of playing (even starting) during the game, but doesn’t see the field because of coach George’s “favorites”. In addition to myself, many parents concur with this sentiment. Enough is enough, Coach. Players who have put in the work since day 1 should get the opportunity to see the field. Put your ego aside and start doing what’s right for the kids. Not the parents, but THE KIDS.

Next Friday, Andy George’s La Serna Lancers square-off against Travis Brown’s Los Altos Conquerors. At the same time, Alhambra is playing that faction of football fear, Calvary Chapel (Santa Ana). Both games are compelling, both will be charged with thrills and spills. I’ll have to flip a coin on which to attend….
Oilers one and done again. The streak continues of over 100 years without winning CIF. Looks like without any transfers Chet is just another coach. Bring back Dougie and restore at least the pride. It’s the worst league in the south land with no improvement in the near future.

El Monte, La Serna, Rio Hondo Prep, Sierra Vista, Alhambra all undefeated… good time to be a fan, but there’s gonna be some heart breaks.
@ Revenge is Sweet: Actually, Alhambra was behind, 14-0, at the end of the first quarter. Then, the Moors came storming back with a 27-point second quarter. It was 27-21, Alhambra, at halftime, and we shut out Diamond Bar the rest of the way.
Las Sernas is a monster team.
Just like I said before the game was a spectacle with LS coming away with the victory. But the thing I truly enjoyed was seeing Cathedrals ex-Coach Kevin Pearson get out coached by George and losing to LS again.
In 2016 Pearson was suspended by his administration for one week for shoving one of his Cathedral players during a game vs St Francis.
In my book he has no class and should not be coaching.

We all knew Warren stood a snowball’s chance of upsetting La Serna, so closing the gap to a 27-point loss has to serve as the only payback that’s possible to Pearson and company. And how about Alhambra storming out of the gate to pummel Diamond Bar? If this were in a division of repute, I’d be doing cartwheels…as it is, I’ll say let’s see what happens next week.
