    @FBF ….i agree with you . I’d say maybe 60% of ADs feel this way : football starts the year and as flagship program sets the tone .

    Theres another group of ADs that don’t care , see all sports the same ( boys and girls) or may even resent football for the place it has traditionally held in society or a particular school.
    Footballl is the most difficult sport to transform , ( number of players , expense of facilities ) so the sport presents a challenge they don’t want to tackle .
    It’s a lot easier to be satisfied with your niche and this crystallizes school identity , thus Keppel , Workman , Bosco Tech etc

    @Low Profile,

    It’s unacceptable. They have a weak athletic program because they have a weak football team. Can’t have a good athletic program without a good football program. No one paid attention to Indiana until the football team started winning.

    And just looking at the 7v7 squad last summer , they were tiny ! There was no sign of a power forward playing wide receiver ,.

    I don’t know , they have a basketball culture at the school which permeates all programs , and they don’t care about football ; they’re used to it and accommodate it .

    Keppel 79, Schurr 50

    If these Keppel families and administrators care about the culture of their school, these basketball players need to cool off on the AAU circuit summer and fall leagues and go help their football team compete in some games. There is no reason for their football team to be that bad when there are a lot of good athletes on their campus. Should be ashamed of themselves to let the real tough kids go out there with a roster of 20 and take a beating.
