(Whittier) – Jake Long, a two-sport star at La Serna has been drafted in the 13th round (pick number 379) of the MLB draft by the Los Angeles Angels. Long graduated from La Serna in 2023 before going on to Santa Ana College and then to the University of Utah. In 2026 as a junior at Utah Long hit .374 with 11 home runs and 58 RBI – the team leader in both categories.

Utah baseball.26-25. Lost in first round of the league tourney 6 zip. But in baseball hope springs eternal especially for the daddies that live through their sons. Better brush up on your Spanish and grow a bigger mustache.
NFL 7 rounds- NBA 2 rounds-Baseball 20 rounds now but was 40 rounds. At his signing at 379 his contract calls for 18,000 per year plus free bus rides. Better off staying at Amazon.
Pujols was drafted in the 13th round. Piazza in the 62nd. Baseball draft is all about finding the diamonds in the rough.
Not being a fan of baseball, I don’t know how many rounds their draft has, but #13 doesn’t strike me as lucky, especially being the 379th player selected overall. But hope never dies, and I wish Jake the best as he goes forward.
