If Santa Fe were to change their name to Cheefs, which, according to all definitions, means nothing, would that satisfy the state’s anti-offensive mandate? In a similar vein, Fullerton High could go with Indyens, which again means nothing. How could our woke legislators object, since these names refer to nothing at all, certainly not to any tribe? Here’s another one: Canyon High becomes the Commancheez, which is a possible reference to dominance over cheese, but again not tribal.
