Victory For Spartans…Lancers Offense Slow to Start

(Whittier, CA) The Damien Spartans traveled south to Cal High’s Sandra Sanchez Thorstenson Stadium Thursday night to take on the La Serna Lancers in the first game of the 2024 season for both teams. The Spartans were victorious in last year’s meeting and repeated their accomplishment with a 42-21 victory.

Pacific League at a Glance

Muir ready to raise the roof in the Pacific.

Glendale and Hoover have been added back into the Pacific after a hiatus to bring the league back to an eight-team league. Burroughs, the defending league champion, has a new head coach, as does Pasadena, Arcadia and Burbank. Pasadena, 0-10 last year, looks like a team that can do a complete 360…well technically it’s a 180 but it will be such a large turn around that it’s closer to a 360.

Hacienda League at a Glance

Four new teams moved into the Hacienda while two moved out. Chino and Covina joined the Hacienda after trading paint in the Sierra, South Hills moved over from the Citrus 4 and Los Altos came in from the Valle Vista. Nogales and Ontario are out. Diamond Bar and Walnut are back. Very competitive league. Six teams that all have a legitimate shot.
