Yeah, we know. It’s La Serna’s League to lose. It’s La Serna left, La Serna right and La Serna up the middle. When you talk about the Del Rio you talk about La Serna. No, I’m not going to be that guy that makes a bold prediction that La Serna will not win the Del Rio. But the truth is you don’t have to win the league to have a successful season. At least not this league.

Gold Coast League at a Glance

Rio Hondo Prep won the CIF Division 9 championship last year but they didn’t win the Gold Coast League. That distinction went to Bentwood who went 3-0 in league and 9-3 overall. The Kares only lost two games all year, one those to Brentwood and the other in a State playoff game.

Gano League at a Glance

Don Lugo appears to be the class of the newly formed Gano League. The League, consisting of four teams, is named after the late great head football coach Greg Gano, who was a legend in the San Gabriel Valley. Gano’s last coaching stop was at Don Lugo. The Conquistadores went 5-7 overall last year and won the San Antonio League with a 3-0 record and advanced to the second round of the CIF Division 12 playoffs.
