South Pasadena — The South Pasadena Tigers went into halftime down 6-0 against visiting Arcadia Friday night at Ray Solari Stadium but then rattled off 21 straight points led by both Trey Freking and David Ortega, who combined for 230 yards and three touchdowns in their 21-6 Week One win.

(El Monte) – The El Monte Lions utilized a strong ground game and a hard-hitting defense to beat the visiting Alhambra Moors, 29-0, last Thursday night. The victory gave the Lions a 2-0 start, while the Moors fell to 0-2 on the season.

Covina: Keanu Tauvao scored three touchdowns, tallying 140 yards on 15 carries, and Erik Jimenez added a passing touchdown in the Vikings 36-0 blowout win over cross-town rival South Hills on a cool Thursday night at Covina District Field.

Damien jumped into the top spot with a win over La Serna while Downey moved up with a big victory over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. Charter Oak routed Canyon to move up the ladder while Bishop Amat stood pat by beating West Covina. Here’s the Dirty Dozen heading into Week 1.
