By Tim Peterson Azusa Pacific fell to Colorado Mesa 33-24 Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale but the Cougars found out Sunday that they advanced to the Division II playoffs. 

Cougar Defense Locks Down Western Oregon

By Tim Peterson (Glendora) – Azusa Pacific’s defense held Western Oregon to zero yards passing and just 29 overall in the first half and went on to beat the Wolves 33-8 Saturday night at Citrus College on Senior Night.

Cougars Wrap up GNAC, 44-7

By Tim Peterson (Glendora) – Andrew Elffers threw for 321 yards and four touchdowns and the defense forced four turnovers as Azusa Pacific routed Central Washington 44-7 Saturday night before a Homecoming crowd at Citrus College. With the victory, the Cougars (8-1) wrapped up the GNAC title.
