(Chino) — Don Lugo runningback Khoury Bethley tallied 172 yards and four touchdowns in the Conquistadores 28-7 win over Burbank in the Semi-final round of the Divison 7 CIF-SS playoffs Friday night at Don Lugo High School.

By Tim Peterson The Burbank hire may have been a surprise to everybody except the people who knew Burbank. While former Bulldog quarterback Adam Colman may have been under that radar as far the next head coach, to Burbank it made perfect sense.

By Tim Peterson (Burbank) – Burbank turned to a familiar face to lead its football program. Adam Colman, who has been an assistant since 2013, and was a former quarterback for the Bulldogs, was named the new head coach Friday.

At first glance Burbank’s defensive statistics might not jump out at you. The Bulldogs gave up 254 points in 14 games – an average of a little more than 18 points per game.

By Tim Peterson So apparently the requirement to step down as head coach is your team has to lose in the CIF Finals. Dale Ziola of Los Altos, Mike Moschetti at La Mirada and Burbank’s Richard Broussard all fell in the final game and resigned the next week.
