On the next play, Brown fumbled and the Lancers recovered on their own 14.

After a formation shift at the line of scrimmage, Christopher Alvarado lined up at quarterback and ran for a 10 yards, followed by a 4-yard run. Antoine Peterson III then broke multiple tackles on a toss play for gain of 18. Quarterback Michael Novell connected with Bryce Shaw on a 32-yard strike to put the Lancers in scoring distance. A few plays later, Peterson broke free for a 17 -ard touchdown which was called back due to a holding penalty. The Lancers had to settle for a 40-yard field goal by Ethan Anabel with 3:01 left in the first quarter.

On the ensuing kickoff, Pasadena had an 80-yard touchdown return called back because of a holding penalty. Brown finished with 138 yard on 24 rushes and 4 touchdowns while Bates finished with 98 yards on 11 carries.

The Lancers offense continued to struggle. Neither the running game nor passing game seem to work for them. Novell went 5 for 12 for 63 yards before being removed from the game after an interception.

“We had a few injuries to a couple key guys that we never really overcame,” said La Salle Coach Antonie Peterson. To try and generate some offense, Will Harrity came in at quarterback and put on an impressive show, going 5 for 7 for 83 yards and touchdown, connecting with Isreal Lacy on a 33-yard pass.

The Bulldogs never went to their passing game.
