{"id":10089,"date":"2010-09-24T23:35:14","date_gmt":"2010-09-25T06:35:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=10089"},"modified":"2010-09-25T10:34:10","modified_gmt":"2010-09-25T17:34:10","slug":"south-pasadena-27-glendale-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=10089","title":{"rendered":"Bednarski Drives South Pas Past Glendale"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Mike Martin<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>(South Pasadena)- With a 1:04 remaining South Pasadena quarterback Conor Bednarski went 28-yards to Matt Nelson for a touchdown to give the Tigers a 27-21 win over visiting Glendale.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>South Pas jumped out in front 14-0 in the first quarter on a pair of touchdowns. First Patrick Martin scored on a 3-yard run and then Bednarski struck Nelson with a bullet for a 30-yard touchdown. Dominic Frescura added both points after.<\/p>\n<p>In the second quarter the Tigers were looking for more but the Nitros\u2019 Alejandro blocked Frescura\u2019s attempt and returned it 70-yards to the end zone. Nick Villapando converted the extra point and the SP lead was cut in half, 14-7.<\/p>\n<p>Glendale got closer in the third when Alex Manukian muscled his way in from 1-yard, but Villapando missed the PAT and South Pasadena still clung to a 14-13 advantage.<\/p>\n<p>Six minutes later the Tigers\u2019 Martin trotted in for a 5-yards score to incread the lead to 21-13.<\/p>\n<p>With 7:42 left to play Nitros quarterback Alex Yoon salvaged a broken play and scored on an 81-yard run. Manukian converted the deuce and the game was tied at 21-21.<\/p>\n<p>Glendale (0-3) was penalized five times for 55 yards, South Pasadena (3-0) eight times for 70 yards.
