(South Pasadena)- The Monrovia balanced attack was on full display Friday night in a 48-7 rout of South Pasadena.<\/p>\n
The Monrovia offense had little trouble finding the end zone, scoring on all but two of their drives.<\/p>\n
To get things started for the Wildcats, Marquise Bias broke a few tackles of an 11 yard gain.\u00a0 Using its no-huddle offense for momentum, Quarterback Nick Bueno quickly connected twice with Jay Henderson for gains of 8 and 13 yards.\u00a0 From the eight yard line, Bueno found Brandon Wingenbach wide open in the end zone for a Wildcat touchdown.<\/p>\n
Monrovia continued to score with ease.\u00a0 Michael Harris ran a touchdown in from 14 yards out.\u00a0 Bueno would throw another touchdown to Anthony Craft before catching one himself on a throwback pass from Charles Jackson to close the half with a 27-0 lead.<\/p>\n
While the South Pasadena offense struggled to put points on the board, the Wildcats got a glimpse of the future.\u00a0 George Frazier V lined up at quarterback and connected with Anthony Craft for a 41 touchdown reception.<\/p>\n
Bueno would later throw a touchdown pass to Charles Jackson and Christian Blanco ran one in from one yard out to finish the scoring for the Wildcats.<\/p>\n
South Pasadena missed a chance to go up early during their first possession.\u00a0 On their first play from scrimmage, the Tigers ran a Flea Flicker play which Conor Bednarski threw to a wide open Matt Nelson who could not hold on to it.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Tigers would not be shut out.\u00a0 After Monrovia put in its reserves in the fourth quarter, Bednarski connected with Nelson on a 43 yard strike to the two yard line which set up a Patrick Martin score on a two yard run.<\/p>\n
It was the first touchdown Monrovia has given up in league, outscoring their opponents 201-7.<\/p>\n
Nick Bueno completed 13 passes on 17 attempts for 142 yards and 3 touchdowns.\u00a0 Christian Blanco finished with 14 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown.<\/p>\n
