{"id":13014,"date":"2010-11-27T00:30:50","date_gmt":"2010-11-27T07:30:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=13014"},"modified":"2010-11-27T11:40:18","modified_gmt":"2010-11-27T18:40:18","slug":"la-serna-28-norwalk-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=13014","title":{"rendered":"La Serna Advances to Semis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Big George Hernandez<\/p>\n<p>(Norwalk) Richard Alvarez&#8217;s three rushing touchdowns led La Serna to a 28-21 win over Norwalk Friday night at Excelsior Adult School in the quarterfinals of the Southeast Division playoffs.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>La Serna got on the board with first possession on an 11-play drive that was capped off with a 3-yard touchdown run by Richard Alvarez to make it 7-0 after the extra point.<\/p>\n<p>Norwalk pounded the ball down field with Andrew Thompson, Elijhaa Penny and finishing it off with Billy Moore\u2019s 3-yard touchdown run to tie the game up at 7-7.<\/p>\n<p>Alvarez scored on runs of 10 and 4-yards to give La Serna a 21-7 halftime lead.<\/p>\n<p>Penny found his way in the end zone midway through the third quarter on a 1-yard touchdown run to cut into La Serna\u2019s lead and make it 21-14.<\/p>\n<p>La Serna took the 14-point lead back when quarterback Andrew Buenrostro found Andrew Rosales from 27-yards out to make it 28-14 after three quarters of play.<\/p>\n<p>After both teams stuffed each other early in the fourth quarter, Norwalk drove the ball 85-yard field on the arm of quarterback Adrian Diaz and capped it off with Penny to make it 28-21. Norwalk tried the onside kick but failed.<\/p>\n<p>Diaz finished the night going 5 of 8 for 118-yards, Penny finished the night with 94-yards and his two scores, and Moore had 44-yards and a touchdown for Norwalk.
