Inside the Fight Game: WEC Brown vs. Faber II<\/span><\/p>\n

Brown shows first meeting wasn’t a fluke:<\/span><\/p>\n

WEC featherweight champion Mike Brown (22-4) walked into a hostile crowd, when he faced former champion, and hometown fighter Urijah Faber (22-3) Sunday Night.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Brown took it to Faber all five rounds but in no way was it easy. Faber used his speed to control most of the first round until he landed a shot to the top of Brown’s head which look like it cost Faber the use of his right when which he said he broke it on the punch.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Faber was only able to throw elbows after the first round still was able to compete. Brown controlled the clinch and was able to get takedowns. Neither fighter was ever in real trouble. Brown did suffer a cut in the first round. Both fighters would transition on the ground and get control of each other. Brown stays hot with the win, while Faber looks to see what\u2019s next for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aldo Deserves title shot:<\/span><\/p>\n

Brazilian standout and rising star Jose Aldo (15-1) showed off skills with a dominating win over scrappy veteran Cub Swanson (13-3).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Both fighters met in the middle of the cage and Aldo didn’t waste any time. He went right in with a flying knee and landed, dropping Swanson. Aldo capitalized and landed two more punches on the ground. Just like that Aldo gets his eighth straight win and has a title shot against champion Mike Brown in his sights. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Pulver loses Fourth Straight; Cerrone looks for another shot at Varner:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Former UFC lightweight champion and MMA legend Jens Pulver (22-12-1) came in with a three fight losing streak, and was facing another rising star Josh Grispi (13-1).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Pulver came out swinging but Grispi landed a solid right hand that forced Pulver to go for the takedown. While going for the takedown, Pulver landed right into a Guillotine Choke. At first it didn’t look tight enough and Pulver almost slipped out but it was enough and it forced Pulver to tap 33 seconds into the fight. It was Pulver\u2019s fourth straight loss and sixth of last seven. After the fight an emotional Pulver said his fight with Grispi could be the last of his career.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Donald Cerrone (10-1) was too much for WEC newcomer and undefeated James Krause (10-1). Cerrone landed shots at will. One punch put Krause on this back and Cerrone capitalized and took the back of Krause. Cerrone locked in his hooks and got a rear naked choke and Krause was forced to tap. Cerrone is looking for a rematch with lightweight champion Jamie Varner.<\/span><\/p>\n
