The Dodgers\u2019 first place lead over the Giants is 7.5 games as they head to Arlington to play three games against the Texas Rangers in an Interleague Series this weekend.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>FILTHY \u2018PEN<\/strong> \u2013 The Dodger bullpen kept the club in the game tonight, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and one walk. Jeff Weaver (2.1), Cory Wade (2.0), Ronald Belisario (1.0), and Ramon Troncoso (1.0) lowered the Dodger bullpen ERA to 3.40 on the season, which ranks sixth in the Major Leagues.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>JUNE BOOM<\/strong> \u2013 Dodger outfielder Andre Ethier drove in the Dodgers\u2019 only run tonight and now has a team-leading eight RBI in the month of June after driving in just eight runs the entire month of May. Ethier is batting .400 (14-for-35) with five home runs during the month.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>SHORT STINT<\/strong> \u2013 Dodger pitcher Clayton Kershaw made the shortest start of his season, lasting just 2.2 innings while allowing three runs, five hits, and four walks. The left-hander\u2019s shortest-career outing came on Aug. 28, 2008 at WAS, when he allowed five runs in 2.1 frames. The shortest start by a Dodger pitcher this year was 1.2 innings by James McDonald back on April 30 vs. SD.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>BETTER THINK TWICE<\/strong> \u2013 Dodger catcher Russell Martin threw out Padres\u2019 left fielder Chase Headley trying to steal third base in the fifth inning and now leads the Major Leagues with 12 runners caught stealing. Martin has thrown out 30 percent of runners this year (12-of-40) which ranks in the top-10 in the big leagues.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>San Diego Padres (28-31):<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>NOT FATIGUED<\/strong> \u2013 San Diego starter Kevin Correia, pitching on three-days rest, had the best outing of his season, allowing just one run on three hits without walking a batter over 6.0 innings. Following a leadoff single by Rafael Furcal in the second inning, Correia set down the last 15 Dodgers he faced and won his second straight start.\u00a0\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n<strong>THE BELL TOLLS<\/strong> \u2013 San Diego closer Heath Bell saved his Major League-leading 18th game tonight.
