(Photo Tony Solorzano, Mid Valley Sports)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>By Tony Solorzano<\/p>\n<p>(Los Angeles) \u2013 The inaugural stop of the\u00a0Monster Energy\u00a0AMA Supercross\u00a0at Dodger Stadium is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the riders participating in Saturday\u2019s event, according to riders Chad Reed and\u00a0Ryan Dungey, who spoke Thursday at Media Day at the stadium.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Normally, Dodger Stadium is quiet except for the occasional winter workouts by rookie and\u00a0non-roster invitees\u00a0of the Dodgers before\u00a0Spring Training\u00a0begins in February, but on this day, the sound of bulldozers shaping the intricate track on the floor of the venerable field as the press and riders gathered in the Stadium Club to talk about Saturday\u2019s third race of the 2011 season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA lot of people are bringing their A-game this season, I\u2019m slowly moving up (after the first two races),\u201d said Reed, as he spoke while crews continued to work on the track construction. \u201cAll of the track sections are there week to week, it\u2019s the dirt that makes the track unique to us, overall it\u2019s gonna be another race for us, but the biggest challenge is to get the bikes to have traction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reed, a two-time Series champion, is steadily moving up after the first two races of the year. At the season opener in Anaheim, Reed finished fifth then just missed a podium finish the following week in Phoenix with a fourth place finish. So far\u00a0Ryan Villopoto\u00a0and James \u201cBubba\u201d Stewart have grabbed wins in the races so far.<\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/R0sfHf6batA\" \/><embed type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/R0sfHf6batA\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Dungey, meanwhile was also taken by the history of the venue, right from the start when he arrived at the Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI drove through the gates this morning and it just struck me at the history here,\u201d Dungey said before heading down to the pits to run some practice laps on part of the track. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor and a thrill to be here since it\u2019s the first time being here in the series.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dungey, who captured the Title last year with six wins in the 17-race season, finished second at Anaheim but struggled at Phoenix and finished fifth.
