Ben Sanderson allowed just one runs and two hits over five innings <\/p><\/div>\n

(Temple City) \u2013 Ben Sanderson fanned 10 and allowed just one run in five innings as Temple City beat La Salle Prep of Milwaukie, Oregon 8-1 Thursday. Temple City’s pitchers struck out 14 in all and the offense did the rest rapping out nine hits.<\/p>\n

The Rams were already leading 3-1 when they delivered the knock out blow in the fourth with five runs and four hits. They also had three batters hit by a pitch as they sent 10 batters to the plate.<\/p>\n

Corey Copping and Julian Jarrard each came off in relief of Sanderson and each retired the side in the sixth and seventh innings. Copping also contributed at the plate with a two run double to the gap in right in the fourth.<\/p>\n

Kyle Starling led off and walked before taking off from third for the game’s first run on a botched double play after Sanderson’s lineout in the first to short was underthrown towards first base.<\/p>\n

The Falcons responded in the second inning as Spencer Savage singled and Kyle Studdard walked to set up Cody Farnes’ RBI double to deep left center to draw even.<\/p>\n

It would be the lone run for La Salle Prep as TC went ahead for good in the bottom half with a pair. Jake Halverson singled with a short hopper into left and later crossed home on a wild pitch before Alec \u201cBubba\u201d Vigil (2-3, RBI, run, SB) followed suit with a liner over second base. Cameron Le Grand’s sacrifice bunt would set up Vigil to score on Starling’s sacrifice fly to center to make it 3-1.\u00a0<\/p>\n
