(Temple City) \u2013 While known for her dominance on the mound, it is her complete game that makes Michelle Floyd one of the best in the valley.<\/p>\n
Floyd struck out nine, hit a home run, and had two RBIs to lead San Marino to a 5-0 victory over the Temple City Rams.<\/p>\n
Floyd only allowed one hit in the game.<\/p>\n
In the fourth with two outs, Larissa Phillips scored on Floyd\u2019s homer over the left field fence.<\/p>\n
Rattled by the home run, Jenny Pegg gave up two more hits before being relieved by Jessica Loicano. Loicano came in and struck out Taryn Converse to end the inning.<\/p>\n
\u201cMichelle sparked us up with that two run blast,\u201d said Titans coach Hilda Valencia. \u201cWe tell the girls to feed off each other and they fed off of the homer.\u201d<\/p>\n
More trouble for the Rams in the sixth as Erin Stenwall opened the inning with a solid double. Floyd reached base on an error and Jacqueline Martinez\u2019s single brought home Stenwall and Allison Lee (courtesy runner for Floyd).<\/p>\n
After walking Converse, Alexis Watanabe got on first on a beautiful bunt to load the bases. Courtney Johnson batted in Martinez in with a single. Emily Stenwall grounded out to end the inning.<\/p>\n
All the runs were scored with two outs.<\/p>\n
San Marino finished with 12 hits.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s a huge comparison to Monday,\u201d Hilda said of their hitting. \u201cWe have to hit. That\u2019s the only way, obviously, that we\u2019re going to put up runs.\u201d<\/p>\n
Temple City\u2019s only chance to score came in the sixth. With two outs and Jessica Doi on third, the Rams were unable to capitalize, with Kristin Hudak grounding out to first.<\/p>\n
