Just like with the football All-Mid Valley teams there is only one team. Lots of discussions on who deserves to be named, but in the end it comes down to who stood out the most during the regular and playoff seasons.<\/p>\n

PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Lauren O\u2019Leary (La Canada)<\/p>\n

COACH OF THE YEAR: Roberta Garcia-Uyemura (Diamond Bar) \u2013 Her leadership helped the Brahmas earn a share of the Hacienda League title and turnaround an winless league season the previous year.<\/p>\n

1B \u2013 Alexis Gonzalez (Bishop Amat) \u2013 Help lead the Lancers to a first place finish in the Del Rey League. Finished the season with six homers and 37 RBI\u2019s with a .411 average.<\/p>\n

2B \u2013 Mandie Perez (Whittier Christian) \u2013 Batted an insane .603 this season. Hit 3 home runs and had 47 hits.<\/p>\n

3B \u2013 Sara Moore (San Dimas) \u2013 Hit three home runs with a .467 average to help lead the Saints to an undefeated Valle Vista League title.<\/p>\n

SS \u2013 Anna Edwards (La Canada) \u2013 Edwards leadership and ability to get to the ball fast earns the award. She also finished with 11 homers and 30 RBI\u2019s while batting .465.<\/p>\n

LF \u2013 Courtney Skogen (La Mirada) \u2013 One of the reasons the Matadores have reached the finals in Division 2. Skogen has 38 hits and 24 RBI\u2019s.<\/p>\n

CF \u2013 Breanna Sandoval (Bonita) \u2013 Patrolling the outfield in center, Sandoval led the team in hits, RBIs and batting average.<\/p>\n

RF \u2013 Hannah Cookson (Crescenta Valley) \u2013 Unreal freshman season can\u2019t go unnoticed by the Mid. Solid young player with a powerful swing helped the Falcons score some runs.<\/p>\n

C \u2013 Brittany Rodriguez (South Hills) \u2013 Rodriguez led the Huskies in HRs, RBI\u2019s and Hits. She also helped South Hills reach its second CIF Final.<\/p>\n

P \u2013 Erin Ashby (Crescenta Valley) \u2013 Along with her hitting skills, Ashby exhibited the ability to pitch out of jams and come up big in huge games.<\/p>\n

P \u2013 Lauren O\u2019Leary (La Canada) \u2013 O\u2019Leary\u2019s microscopic ERA and ability to handle the pressure makes her one of the toughest pitchers in the area.<\/p>\n

DP \u2013 Stephany La Rosa (Diamond Bar) \u2013 Lead the Brahmas with 8 homers and hit the game-winning and title clinching homer against West Covina.<\/p>\n

Flex \u2013 April Marquez (Montebello) \u2013 One of the best defensive gloves in the area. Marquez can also swing a good bat, but her ability to make tough play look routine gets her this spot.<\/p>\n
