The Knights forced the extra sessions\u00a0when they tied it at 18 late in regulation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 The Chargers then scored four times but the Knights matched them on each possession.\u00a0The Chargers put it in the zone again and then\u00a0finally a\u00a0Steven Rivera pass\u00a0was batted away in the end zone\u00a0\u00a0to preserve the victory.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0 &#8220;&#8221;Yes we&#8217;re happy but you know there is always room for improvement,&#8221; said Charter Oak assistant Dominic Farrar.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1880\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1880\" href=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?attachment_id=1880\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1880\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1880\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/sgv-shootout-013-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Arroyo quarterback Steven Rivera\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1880\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Arroyo quarterback Steven Rivera<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u00a0A.J Powell\u00a0made the big plays for Charter Oak\u00a0but Rivera, Chris Rodriguez and Jeff Salazar did their part for Arroyo in giving\u00a0the Chargers all they wanted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Baldwin Park beat Alhambra 24-18 in the semi finals to capture third place.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0The Braves\u00a0are headed in right direction under James Heggins.\u00a0They lost to the Moors earlier in the day but\u00a0then took care of\u00a0Rowland twice to earn a trip to the semis.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Darrian Cazarin\u00a0is throwing the ball well for the Moors and\u00a0Rowland Coach\u00a0Craig Snyder is impressed with his returning quarterback\u00a0Michael Ball.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s only July but\u00a0Gladstone\u00a0seems to be back\u00a0on track.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1881\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-1881\" href=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?attachment_id=1881\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1881\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1881\" src=\"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/sgv-shootout-028-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Alhambra advanced to the semi finals\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1881\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alhambra advanced to the semi finals<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The best quote of the day came from\u00a0Alhambra offensive coordinator\u00a0Manny Ruedaflores.\u00a0&#8220;Winning isn&#8217;t about Xs and Os it&#8217;s about Jimmys and Joes.\u00a0Talent is the most important thing,&#8221; he said while observing the action.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 I could be wrong\u00a0but\u00a0I don&#8217;t see\u00a0Los Altos winning just one game again this year.\u00a0The Conquerors took out Northview and Gladstone early and\u00a0Covina and\u00a0Diamond\u00a0Bar late. Arroyo beat them\u00a036-15 for their only loss.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Rosemead looked like Rosemead &#8211; always competing, battling, flying to the ball, but the Panthers have lost a lot from\u00a0last year&#8217;s\u00a0team that appeared in the CIF Finals.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Northview sufferred some\u00a0huge losses as well to graduation. The Bulldogs fell to Montebello, Covina and El Monte.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Wilson, under first year Coach Brian Zavala, went 3-2 in the shootout including a win over third place finisher Baldwin Park.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Trophies were presented\u00a0to the\u00a0first , second and third place finishers.
