(Pomona) \u2013 Junior quarterback Ivan Vasquez throws four touchdowns as the La Puente Warriors defeated the Ganesha Giants, 59-14, Thursday night at Nancy McCracken Stadium.<\/p>\n
With the absence of senior running back Nick Barrientos, the Warriors game plan was to throw the ball, and that\u2019s what they did.<\/p>\n
The Warriors offense came out firing from different angles scoring on their first two possessions. The scoring drives for LP were fast and simple. The first was a four play 48 yard drive with Vasquez connecting with senior tight end Brandon Rios on 16 yard pass for six.<\/p>\n
LP had a balance attack mixing the play calling to confuse the giant\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n
Vasquez led the team passing for 222 yards and four scores in the first half, connecting with four different receivers.\u00a0<\/p>\n
By half the score was 32-8 in favor of the warriors. They had control of the game and ran out the clock in the second half.<\/p>\n
Ganesha\u2019s only score in the first half came on Kenny Uba 98-yard kick-off return.<\/p>\n
The Giants were able to score again late in the third on a one yard Eric Acevedo scoring.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wanted to come out and throw,\u201d Warrior head coach Brandon Rohrer said. \u201cThat was our game plan. We have vets on this team to pass.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the win LP remains undefeated and 3-0 in league. They travel to Sierra Vista next Friday.<\/p>\n
