Penn dominates Florian:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kenny Florian (11-4) went into his championship fight wanting to kill the “master” BJ Penn (14-4-1). The master wasn’t ready to go. Florian pushed forward the whole fight going for takedowns and throwing big blows. But Penn wasn’t ever taken down, and landed all the power shots.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Penn rocked Florian in the first round, and landed a solid knee to end round two. Florian never gave up, but when Penn took him down in the fourth round\u00a0he didn’t have an answer for Penn. Penn would be in the mount or back of Florian landing shots, Penn locked in a rear-naked choke and Florian was forced to tap at 3:54 in the fourth round.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Silva puts on a show:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The only time the former light heavyweight champ\u00a0Forrest Griffin (16-6) touched UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva was in the pre-fight hand shake.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Silva, who moved up to 205 after two lackluster title defenses at middleweight, came to fight. Silva kept his distance for the first two minutes of the fight until he exploded and landed a right hand that dropped Griffin, Griffin got right up. Silva kept stacking Griffin and tried to pump Griffin up to exchange. When Griffin came forward Silva landed a 1-2 combination and dropped Griffin again. Silva stood over Griffin and landed hard punches, but let Griffin get back up.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

Silva after letting Griffin get up put his hands down and let Griffin throw punches. Silva moved side to side and threw a right hand that hit its mark and dropped Griffin for the third and final time. Griffin was done and the referee stopped the fight at 3:23 of the first round. Silva’s next fight is probably a middleweight title defense against Dan Henderson.<\/p>\n

Bowles shocks Torres:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brian Bowles went into his title shot a heavy underdog against one of the best pound-for-pound fighters Miguel Torres. I don\u2019t think he knew that.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The fight started off the way everyone thought with Torres moving forward and throwing hard punches and kicks. But it didn’t faze Bowles who rocked the champ with a right hand, but Torres just got right back up and jumped right on Bowles landing his own shots. The fight went to the ground for awhile with no damage to either fighter.<\/p>\n

Torres got up and rushed Bowles rocking him. Torres was looking to finish the fight but Bowles threw a short right hook that dropped Torres. Bowles jumped right on top and landed hard punch after hard punch. The ref was forced to stop the fight as Torres was out cold. Bowles becomes the new WEC Bantamweight Champion and snaps Torres’s 17 fight win streak.<\/p>\n
