He was also served as a captain for Diamond Ranch.

Ardon was one of four captains for the Panthers on the 2010 team who are all going on to distinguished schools.

“Jacob was a three year starter and a team captain. His year was at linebacker but he also played center when he had to and offensive guard when injuries occurred,” Layton said. He was our vocal leader on defense and was the center of our team breaks.”

Ardron was known for being the hardest worker on the team.

“In the weight room he always worked hard. He put on a lot of weight by getting in the weight room as often as he could and once he was in there he didn’t stand around. He’s a very smart player who rarely came of the field because he also played on special teams,” Layton said.

Ardron easily made transitions and adjustments and performed academically as well.

“Last year he excelled in a 3-4 and this year a 4-3. In the classroom Jacob carried a 4.5 GPA. He has passed AP exams and takes honors and AP courses,” Layton said.

Ardron, who lives by Christian values, was always willing to help friends and teammates during his time at Diamond Ranch.

Layton knew he was going to be special right away when he gave him the #54 jersey.

“Kyle Lengyel was # 54 and if you were going to follow him and play his position and were 54 you have to be the best. Lengyel was a great linebacker with excellent academics and family and so is Jacob. It was a great pleasure coaching Jacob Ardron,” Layton added.

(Pomona) – Diamond Ranch linebacker Jacob Ardon verbally committed to Columbia Sunday morning said Coach Roddy Layton.

[871,12816
6712,6718,5204,6717,671
post-21753","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-college","category-hsfootball","tag-columbia","tag-diamond-ranch-football","tag-jacob-ardron","tag-kyle-lengyel","tag-roddy-layton
["GET
