The Nobles, after going 1-9 in 2010, finished 5-5 in 2011 and 3-3 in the Valle Vista League.

Last Note Nogales: The last time the Nobles finished with a .500 record was in 2001. They played in the Sierra League.

He’s under the radar his first two years, but expect Rosemead linebacker Dominic Salas to emerge big next September. The Panthers should be better, he’ll be better, and its just his time.

For the Super Bowl this year, I think I’m going to go with the team that wins. I know that’s the safe bet, but I’m not exactly Mr. Vegas.

It’s not often you get a Super Bowl rematch four years apart and still have the same quarterbacks and head coaches involved.

Is there some irony in Eli Manning going for his second Super Bowl title in Indianapolis? Especially with his brother’s future in that city being uncertain.

Last Add Under the Radar: Arroyo defensive end Marcos Lopez, 6-0 185, had an amazing 2010 (75 tackles/five sacks) and most us didn’t know it.

We’re being told that El Rancho is pursuing a big name for its head coaching position.

Congrats to West Covina quarterback Chris Caballero on his congressional nomination to West Point. No easy feat to accomplish. For the all the talk we do about touchdowns, tackles, transfers, and trash talk…Caballero and the others like him who work themselves in position to go to one of our military academies deserve our respect.

I’ve never even interviewed Caballero…but I can tell you I’m pretty sure he is one awesome young man.

A nomination doesn’t seal the deal to West Point, but if it all shakes out Caballero does intend to walk on for football and wrestling.

Fifty-Six points? A team in the National Basketball Association, the Orlando Magic, only managed 56 points against Boston Celtic team that is older than dirt? I can grab three guys down at the park, plug Big Tony in the middle and we could score 56 points in 48 minutes of action.

Not only does South El Monte’s Jerry Valencia collect tackles and knock heads from his linebacker spot for the Southmen…But he’s really a good punter.

Really Last Note on Nogales: In September of 2001 the Nobles beat Wilson 29-14. In September of 2011 the Nobles beat Wilson 29-14. In both the seasons they finished 5-5.

Really Last Note on Wilson: The Wildcats finished both the 2001 and 2011 seasons 1-9.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

The Dude abides…

458

Contact Joe at joe@midvalleysports.com

1 John 2:17

Kick it!
