<\/a>Jelani Mitchell soars for two against Glendale<\/p><\/div>\n
(Pasadena) – Muir went on a\u00a017-2 second quarter run\u00a0to erase a five point deficit and went on to\u00a0rout Glendale 75-55 Friday night in Pacific League action.<\/p>\n
Glendale scored the first five points of the game\u00a0and led 20-19 after one. The Nitros then scored the first two buckets\u00a0of the second\u00a0quarter to gain the five point advantage.\u00a0Then the roof caved in.\u00a0Jelani Mitchell\u00a0hit three baskets off steals and breaks, Arlondo Daniels nailed a pair of deuces, Andre Frazier\u00a0creatred havoc defensively and the next thing you\u00a0know the Mustangs are up by ten.<\/p>\n
Muir\u00a0increased the lead to 17 at the end of three and 21 in the fourth before settling\u00a0for the 20 point victory.\u00a0Frazier was also a force\u00a0down low swatting away\u00a0several Glendale shot attempts. He blocked three consecutive shots during one sequence in the third quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Frazier scored 17 points including\u00a0eight in\u00a0a 23 point third quarter. Jelani Mitchell also tossed in 17\u00a0with nine of them\u00a0coming in the decisive second quarter run. Tevin Polk added\u00a013 and had\u00a0six in the third. Polk was five of six from the free throw line.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Dion Nelson, running the show from the point, had six points in the first and ended up with 13.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Arada Zakarian took scoring honors for Gendale with\u00a014. He hit three bombs from beyond the arc. David Yetinikyan\u00a0did a solid job down low\u00a0contending with Frazier and company\u00a0to score 13 points, nine of which came in the first quarter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Muir remained perfect in the Pacific at 12-0 and is 23-1 overall.\u00a0Glendale fell to 5-7 and 10-14.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
