He got the Dogs going early with 12 points in the first quarter and 19 in the half. He finished with 28 points as he dominated down low.

Jolley scored five baskets, all in the paint, in the first quarter and Ajon Efferson scored five including a three to help Pasadena to a 23-9 advantage after one.

Jolley continued to attack in the second quarter with three more buckets inside and Muir was unable to cut into the lead still trailing 40-25 at the break.

Muir sliced the lead to nine at one point in the third quarter behind a pair of baskets by Tevin Polk and Maurice Ballard but by the time the quarter ended Pasadena had played them even and still led by 15.

Blake Hamilton threw down a jam in the fourth quarter off of a break and Pasadena knocked down six free throws in the final period to keep the Mustangs down. Hamilton also electrified the crowd early with a couple of slams in the first half.

Jolley led the way but everybody else stepped in line. Hamilton and Perris Hicks both scored 12 points and John John Hayward was also in double figures tossing in 11.

Dion Nelson and Jelani Mitchell were both in doubles for Muir with 13 apiece. The Mustangs were still without key player Andre Frazier who sat out after eligibility questions were raised. Frazier transferred from Bell-Jeff last year.

The Mustangs finished 24-2 overall and 13-1 in league. Pasadena took second with a 12-2 league record and 19-7 on the year.

P 23 17 15 16 71

M 9 16 15 13 53

(Pasadena) – Pasadena jumped out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back in a 71-53 rout of Muir Thursday night before a packed house at Muir. The Mustangs beat Pasadena in the first meeting and have since clinched the Pacific League title but the Bulldogs salvaged a split in the city rivalry.

[3

post-22211","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-high-school-sports
["GET
