{"id":23056,"date":"2012-03-20T23:29:42","date_gmt":"2012-03-21T06:29:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=23056"},"modified":"2012-03-20T23:29:42","modified_gmt":"2012-03-21T06:29:42","slug":"all-star-promotion-has-action-packed-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/midvalleysports.com\/?p=23056","title":{"rendered":"All Star Promotion has Action Packed Night"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mceTemp\">(Montebello)- Promoter Ed Holmes put together a night of MMA, Muay Thai and pro boxing matches Friday night at Quiet Cannon in Montebello.<\/div>\n<p><strong><!--more-->MMA:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the MMA card, Nick Navarro (4-5) fighting out of CSW and Chris Ryan (5-3) from Pimp It Fight Team had a three round stand up war.<\/p>\n<p>Navarro came out strong with punches but Ryan landed hard kicks that slowed Navarro down. After three rounds the judges gave a unanimous decision win<br \/>\nto Ryan who was crowned the new All Star Promotions welterweight champion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Muay Thai:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a hard fought battle by both fighters Howard &#8220;The Situation&#8221; Jeon (4-2) from Saekson Muay Thai was on the short end of a split decision to Jay Alvarez (4-0) out of Team Victory. Jeon looked confused the first round in a half but got on his feet and started landing kicks and rocked Alvarez in the second.<\/p>\n<p>Alvarez was more active, and might not have landed much but made it look good to the judges and was able to get the W.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pro Boxing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jose Zepeda (9-0, 7 KO&#8217;s) out of La Puente made quick work of journeyman Sergio De La Torre (11-16-3, 1 KO). Zepeda was in a higher class than De La Torre landing at<br \/>\nwill to the body and head and using outstanding footwork.<\/p>\n<p>After Zepeda dropped De La Torre twice in the second round, his corner threw in the towel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Results:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adam Martin def.
