Grimes battled for 10 innings in win.<\/p><\/div>\n

(Arcadia) \u2013 A two-hour and thirty minute marathon on Friday night ended on Lisa Rosas\u2019s high-chopper behind the mound as Katelyn Morreale scored from third with two-outs to complete Arcadia\u2019s improbable 7-6 comeback victory over La Salle.<\/p>\n

Kenzie Grimes helped lead the way for the Apaches as she went two-for-four and pitched all ten innings enroute to a non-league victory. Grimes also struck out nine Lancers.<\/p>\n

Arcadia\u2019s comeback began in its bottom of the sixth inning down by four runs. Back to back singles by Izzy Mejia and Grimes with one out was the start. After Mejia\u2019s single, Jasmine Rosas scored on a two-base error by Stephanie Ferri that allowed Mejia to move to third. Mejia later scored on an illegal-pitch to cut the La Salle lead to two.<\/p>\n

A two-run rally in the seventh inning completed the comeback for the Apaches as Lisa Rosas and Yeram Park came home to score. Rosas scored on Stephanie Noriega\u2019s single and Park scored on a fielder\u2019s choice on a grounder by Mejia with two outs to tie the game and send it to extra frames.<\/p>\n

La Salle looked like it was on the verge of winning its second game in five games when the collapse began.<\/p>\n

After spotting Arcadia a two-run lead, the Lancers battled back to take control of the game with a pair of three-run innings.<\/p>\n

Senior Colleen McWilliams was the catalyst to both innings as she began the rallies with an error and walk. Ferri doubled in McWilliams for La Salle\u2019s first run of the game. Katie Smither gave the Lancers lead with a single over the third baseman\u2019s head to score Summer Taylor and Kennedy Cribbs.<\/p>\n

La Salle added to its lead in the fifth inning as McWilliams, Rachel Albright and Ferri all scored. McWilliams tallied her second run of the game on a Sac-Fly by Cribbs and Reid singled in Albright and Ferri.<\/p>\n

Albright valiantly battled in the circle for the Lancers throwing nearly 175 pitches in the loss and striking out 10 in nine and two-thirds inning of work.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
