Rosemead HC Marc Paramo getting an early start<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

(Rosemead) – “Championships aren’t won in\u00a0November\u00a0and December, they’re\u00a0won now!” <\/strong>First year Rosemead\u00a0Coach Marc Paramo barked\u00a0at his team while running them through a late Wednesday workout. While\u00a0getting\u00a0in some\u00a0physical drills Paramo made sure they got plenty of verbal motivation as well.<\/p>\n

The Panthers\u00a0are getting an early\u00a0start in the upcoming football season after finishing .500 last year\u00a0and out of the playoffs. Since last November Matt Koffler\u00a0stepped down and Paramo, formerly the DC, took over as HC. Paramo has Rosemead\u00a0on the field every Wednesday late afternoon\/evening.<\/p>\n

“I used to look\u00a0forward\u00a0to\u00a0Fridays. Now I look forward to Wednesdays!<\/strong>,”\u00a0Paramo continued. “This is the earliest we’ve ever started gentlemen and it’s going to pay off.” <\/strong><\/p>\n

Ten more yards!<\/p><\/div>\n

Rosemead\u00a0went 2-3 in the MVL\u00a0including a two point loss to\u00a0South El Monte in the regular\u00a0season finale that officially knocked the Panthers out of the post season.<\/p>\n

“The last time you guys wore a helmet\u00a0the score was 33-31 and you guys lost. They went on and played and you never played again. 33-31! Remember that score!” <\/strong><\/p>\n

Getting ready<\/p><\/div>\n

Rosemead\u00a0also sufferred losses to\u00a0El Monte 20-13 and Arroyo 28-21 to find itself on the outside looking in and\u00a0so April\u00a0was as good as anytime to get started.<\/p>\n

“I don’t give a damn if it’s not spring. Let’s work!…You guys had\u00a0the talent to\u00a0be an eight win team last year and you were 5-5. Not acceptable!”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stretch it out<\/p><\/div>\n

Even as the\u00a0players jumped to their\u00a0feet\u00a0after stretching, Paramo some room for improvement.<\/p>\n

“That’s not good enough. Now get back down and let’s do it again! C’mon, C’mon, you got to believe!” <\/strong><\/p>\n

Doin' work in April<\/p><\/div>\n

Paramo made it clear to his troops\u00a0that last year\u00a0was an\u00a0aberration.<\/p>\n

“This is not a rebuilding year. We are here to win now.\u00a0We might\u00a0be young, but we’re\u00a0going to be smart. We might be young but\u00a0we’re going\u00a0to compete. We might be young, but you\u00a0know\u00a0we’re going to be physical.” <\/strong><\/p>\n

And so it went as\u00a0late afternoon began to turn to\u00a0evening.\u00a0A full coaching staff\u00a0manning four different stations and the Rosemead Panthers\u00a0dilligently\u00a0working through them all. And \u00a0eventually, as Paramo stated\u00a0earlier, he saw it beginning to pay off…in the first week of April.<\/p>\n

“That’s it, now you getting it.\u00a0That’s the way to do it. Good job!” <\/strong><\/p>\n
